I'm going to take my Nytro XTX to New Brunswick to try some new trails and would like to do the snowmobile Northern Odyssey trip. I have our trip plan in the Photo and Video forum and someone there suggested I ask for some feedback from New Brunswick riders about riding there. I would like to know if the route laid out for the Northern Odyssey trip is a good route and also mileages from city to city on the route. I've been given some good suggestions for lodging and would prefer outfitters to motels. We will be a group of 20 to 25 people so we need to stay at places that can handle a large group. Any info would be welcome. If anyone would like to check out our group and our ride across Quebec and around the Gaspe, you can do so by going to www.darksideadventures.com. There are some videos from along the way and lots of pictures including our stay at the Ice Hotel in Quebec city. Looking forward to winter.

We will be there Feb. 7th-11th.

I'm in Bathurst, and can help as well.

X2 on Upei93's choices. You have alot of options in Northern NB, but on your Campbellton to Bathurst leg I would suggest Campbellton => Restigouche Timber Trails Inc. Balmoral => Island Lake(gas)=>Governor's Resort(gas)=>Nepisiquit Snowmobile Club(gas) =>Atlantic Host Hotel in Bathurst.

The beauty of our system is you can vary your daily ride length rather dramatically. You can be as long as 200 miles or as short as 75miles which is great if you encounter a breakdown or dare I say...wicked cold. I think the route I selected is around 140 miles...give or take. Oh yeah, gas isn't a problem either. Maybe 40 miles max between stops, as you can see most listed above have gas.

My only suggestion is to do Piston Alley (Governors => Nepesiquit Snowmobile Club), not because it is interstate wide, windy and fast, but because it also has some beautiful Appalachian scenery along the way.

I am sure we can get you a proper trail map with trail numbers and maybe even an overlay for Google Earth and you can see the route yourself!

Cheers
OTM

Thanks for the advice. I did send for information but didn't get any trail maps ln my tourism package. I will try again. Looking forward to trying your trails.

I agree with OTM...wouldn't miss this part of the trail...depending on the winter snow is sometimes an issue the farther South you get.
