Last weekend my gas light came on so i nursed it to the gas station. I went about 14 miles with the light on thinking i only had about a gallon off gas left. After filling up it only took 6.6 gallons meaning there was still 2.5 gallons left wtf? A little early for the light to come on ain't it? Just wondering if they are all like that. I'm thinking i could go at least another 40 miles now after it comes on

When our lights come on we assume 2 gallons left even though it's actually 2.5. So we assume 30 to 40 miles before running out. Helps to know for gas "situations"...

Thats funny with mine (being supercharged and aftermarket fuel pump not being able to suck all the gas out) when my light comes on I have 8 miles LOL.

My apex light comes on I have made it 45-48miles but was on fumes. I now carry extra 1.5 gallons with me all the time. 9.4 gallons is not enough for the back country rides and different conditions to hard to judge mileage. I wish they just kept the 12 gallon tanks! Doo claims 200 miles to tank? 150 with us is pushing it on 9 gallon tank. 3 more gallons and we could push 200 also!

I'll answer your question, instead of all this mumbo jumbo people are putting in their posts. On my 2011 Apex SE I have 2 1/2 gallons left once my light comes on.

My 2011 SE went 28 miles after light came on before it stopped...... Put a gallon in to get it the 6 miles back to truck. Took 7.9 gal to fill it. Seems like I lost something somewhere.
