snow

OK heres some good news...the mountainforecast says below 0 for the next 6 days above 1500...so the 3 feet of snow in area X where I ride is going to get more snow on monday...So its winter above 1500 in gaspesie...in back of the sled den...but the riding is only on logging roads and the trails have not been groomed cause there really isnt any snow in the valleys...but as usual the grooming will start from cap chat to mont-louis..on the north shore..this is where the most and the earliest and latest snow is..hey so is area X ...somewhere....shall post pics from friends this weekend..I will only ride dec 25...but everyday if I want till mothers day..Yep will ride that day this year..no work this year...Im retarded....lol...I mean retiered... :jump:

Its sunday and there is now 15cm on the ground in the towns..The forecast is for 15-20cm this monday..thats a foot..in 2 days. :-o ..If it keeps up like this we will be able to ride the trails from saint-anne-des-mont to mont-saint-piere..maybe even grand-valle...I think the trails might open next week..in that area..but dont quote me...lol..mountainforecast says 15-20cm so we are now in winter and there will be 4 feet or so in the mountains all together ....( area X )..4 feet or more.. ;)! .shall post some pics this week of the snow....jack

These are from today just before the 20-25cm storm hit..they didnt ride late..snowing too hard...gee too bad.the snow is thin at sealevel..but its very limited..second is at 1500 a bridge we launch at in mid to the end of April.the last pic is at 1800..still too early...jack

1 is from 1800
2 is the bridge
3 is at sealevel

How is the south shaping up? Mont tremblant area? Still waiting for snow around here!

Looks amazing.
Keep the posts coming as the trail network comes up. If something doesnt happen in Ontario soon, you may see me in the Gaspe early in 2013.

Yes this is good news! I see Alain already rode last weekend in the st zenon area! Looks very good and with next snow fall looks amazing. Here at home in ottawa were also looking at good snow fall amounts! Doing the snow dance!

So we didnt get the hudge dump like the rest of Quebec. We got 10cm sealevel and 15cm up high.BUT..The storm that is going by will have a rap around and we at sealevel will get 20cm and above 3000 feet its 35cm..The mountforecast is usually on.The snow is in the eastern point of gaspesie..Looks like the mountains will be ready for the long tracks in 1 or 2 more storms. Why,because they cut in the winter and leave 2 foot stumps.Need 4 foot base to not hit those. The trails are still thin in the south be careful.Shall post after the storm.. jack

We got pounded..The snow is 2-3 feet at sealevel and is crazy deep in the mountains..We still need some in the cuts...But its ammazzing..One pic is my sled where you only see the seat and handlebar. One of my son and I cutting tracks..One where I stood off my sled on the road..You know the days you ride and your sled is like a boat..you crawl to get to it,and when you try to get on its hard to get your foot up that high,.Now thats a powder day.. jack
