i make last night some test with gearing on 2000' hardpack trail at 20 degree,no wind.i just play with shim in the front to keep the engine at 10800.
all speed is in km on gps and keep 70 link chain and 39 tooth on bottom all the night

22/39=174km
23/39=185km
24/39=176km

i think that would faster with 23/38 because the clutch is fully closed with
23/39 at .96 overdrive but 23/39 have better acceleration

Interesting. Huge difference with one tooth.

Thanks for the report.

My sled runs a lot faster with the 24/38@1.58 gear ratio, compared to my stock 22/38@1.73 07 rtx gearing. Lots of people recommend the 23/38 however, I would like to give that a try as well.

in 2000ft my sled have not enough power to pull the 24/39 to a ratio 1/1
i think if traction is good the 23/39 is better on short distance
on long distance 24/39 may be better
last night 3 friend (800 etec,1200 brp, apex rtx yamcharger) and the better is the yamcharger and it is nose to nose with me with 23/39
