Its not hard, use a camera and lay out the pieces as you take them off, Remember to get the right gears if you have or dont have reverse.
Do a search also, I am sure some one has posted pictures already

If your buds speedo is off by 5 k's compared to yours, the question is how much is yours off? Most Apex speedos are off about 15 MPH at WOT (25 km's!) compared to GPS. Grinding off one tooth on the spedoo gear brings it within 7-8 from GPS & taking two teeth off makes the speedo almost bang on compared to GPS.
I ran mine up to exactly 100 mph on the GPS & the speedo was right on 115.

By the way, what year RTX did you want the gearing from? In 08 the RTX changed from 22/38 gears to 24/38. I presume the older RTX as the newer one would have the same gearing as yours.

The RTX 22/38 will be quicker out of the hole as long as you can get it to hook up. Are you running studs? I don't run studs so I find the 24/38 combo hooks up for for me better (don't spin as much).
I believe all the Apex speedo's are out about 15 mph at 100 mph, not sure if the new ones are better or not though. Just compare your speedo to a hand held GPS to see how much yours is out. Let us know how you make out.

I think Yamaha uses the same pickup drive bearing setup in all their sleds as of late. I have an apex pickup hooked up to my rx1 and it works just fine. Its still going to be a dream meter though. lol

my 2011 apex xtx read 117mph and my gps 115 . so they did fix the problem for the most part
