Well, I bought my first Yamaha yesturday. I bought a 2009 RTX SE with 475 miles.

My plans are to race in the cross country series (USCC) in the Semi-pro stock class. Anyone here race in the USCC series with a Nytro ??

This being my first year in the series and my first Yamaha (jumped ships from Ski-Doo) I was looking for some tips on setting up the Nytro. Like clutching, skis, and shock set-up.

Thanks.

I'm going to Haydays next weekend and goig to get a bunch of stuff to get the sled ready for this year. I'm going to have Carver Performance re-valve the shocks, talk to Ulmer's about clutching, and meet with Curve Ind. about some skis. Also going to pick up my studs and carbides from my sponsor Snowstuds. Alot of stuff to do to get ready.

I just got rid of my 2005 Mach Z to get into this. I went with the Nytro cause it was the closest thing to my Mach and still race. I don't think I could have gone from a 170 hp sled to an 85 hp sled and been happy. Don't get me wrong the Phazers look like a blast to ride and race, but I wanted to stay in the 600 class.

You racing in the 85 Expert calss this year ?

Seth,
Saw your Phazer tips post on usccracing.com. Lot of good info there. Those same tips go for the same on the Nytro ? Were there many Nytos running in the USCC last year ?

There is very little Nytro's out there but Yamaha is a very close knit group of riders.

You can approach any of us for help.

Drop me an e-mail and I will do whatever I can to help.

We are running a RTX but things will be very close to the SE as well.

I'm picking up our sled from storage tomorrow & will start getting it ready for another season.

Skis are one of the biggest improvements you can make & suspension set ups are also very important. I can help you at the races as well as the Fox trailer will be there.

Strege is the greatest resource is Yamaha racers have for help so make sure to introduce yourself at the first race.

He is in charge and is wrenching on 2 factory Pro sleds (Nytro Mod's).

Thank you, any help would be much appreciated. I have alot to learn with the Yamaha snowmobiles and the USCC. But with people like you and Seth Thorson offering to help out, it will make things much easier.

I'm in the process of getting my sled ready now, and I have had alot of luck with companies listed in my signature helping out.

I met Jesse Strege and Eric Joesphsen at Haydays. A couple of great guys talked to them for awhile at the Yamaha exhibit.

I plan on running the full series (semi-pro and masters 40+) as it stands now. I think it will be a fun year!
