I know this isn't the correct forum (maybe?) but I wanted it seen........

Anyone else giving up on their CSS?

I bought 2 in the 2-for-1 one deal a couple of years ago. Put one on each sled........after they replaced BOTH heads with the 2nd generation ones....the ones with the ballast in the wiring. So I ride one full season (almost) and the head (light) on the Nytro gives up the game. Just stops working. Not quite a full season on it.

I thought about moving working head from sled to sled but that's more work than I care to put into it. I moved it once from the RX-1 to the Nytro, that's enough. Plus they never really seem to have caught on around here. So I'll probably use the one that now on the Nytro until it craps out. Then it's toast too. Not really into spending any more $$$$ on them.

Other experiences?

I never bought one, but they didnt seem to catch on..... guess its one of those things that may have came and now gone.....

just like a fart in church..... lol.... see u next week.

Mine are still working good and use them all the time.

Use the blinking light when stopped and with me at the back of the pack, the leader knows to leave when he/she sees the light. Don't think they really caught on, but it sure helps pick out a sled in a crowd.

They are not real popular around here, but I'll keep mine. Sure beats taking my hands off the bars! It's one of those things that if they made it mandatory or the sled manufactures put them on, everyone would use it, but since they don't make it faster or better looking most won't invest the money in em.

I think they are just starting to get recognized, I think all sleds should have them, beats the alternativ, some yahoo coming at you half out of control and then thinking he/she HAS to take one hand off the bars to signal that he/she is the second one in line!

After pulling both my daughters out of the ditch after they tried to use hand signals, I quickly got four of them. No problems yet.

I've got two, gave one to my dad. I'd rather not take my hands off the bars. We actually got some signs that explain what the lights mean from the CSS maker and put them at trail junctions. Personally I don't see why we need to use hand signals. If everyone would STAY TO THE RIGHT like they do when driving a car(unless you are English) we wouldn't have so many damn accidents. I don't give a crap how many sleds are coming toward me if they are all on their side of the trail.

I had to replace mine once, and I had to pay for the replacement. If this one goes south, I will not replace it. The first one lasted about 13 months.
They are nice, but I will not keep on buying them after just 1 season and they crap out.

I guess that was my major point to begin with. I love the idea but their track record, at least with me, ain't the greatest.......... :o|

(ANd like you, I'll continue to use the working one until............)

Then you always have the moron who dam near runs into you while waving 3 fingers at you and dont know what the light means.
