Glad I stuck with my 06 Apex.

The belt on my 07 RS Vector GT exploded at around 4500 miles. I had just taken it up to 100 mph twice. On the 2nd time I could smell burning belt so I slowed down to around 50 and BANG! The belt was in a 1000 pieces. I dug as much belt shreds out as I could and put the spare on. I had to take apart the secondary to get all the sheds out when I got back to the garage. I've driven over 1500 miles since with no problems. I think the belt just died of old age. That was the only belt I've ever blown in nearly 44 years (not a typo) of sledding.

My 05 RX-1 I blew the belt at 4,200 miles. My 06 Apex has 15,300 miles on the sled. The belt on the sled now has 13,300 miles on it and keeps on going.

So is it just the 1100 turbo's that are blowing belts or are the 800's blowing them as well?

(Would like an unbiased response...)

I have an XF 800 that I bought at the end of March last winter.

I took it from Goose bay to Hopedale and back, and never blew a belt, never had a hitch.

A couple of weeks after that I blew a belt on a long hard pull, after a half hour of pushing the sled really hard. That was at about 1800kms.

I've got 4100kms on the sled now, so 2300kms on this belt.

Maybe it will last the rest of the winter, who knows? One thing I do know; I'm not going to blow the belt this weekend because it snapped a jackshaft last saturday and is now at the dealership waiting for parts.

Seriously? My Dragon was really good on belts, but I've blown a belt a year on the Nytro, usually right around 4000kms.
