Yamaha's Involvement With The Procross Chassis

Journeyman,
That sounds like some pretty inside info!

Ak Yammy,
That would be great if you let me know if and when they offer demo rides! I'm hoping they will offer something at Big Lake in the Valley. That's closer than Fairbanks but still an 8hr round trip drive for me though. But, one day of driving will definitely be worth it over a season of regret if for some reason the Viper doesn't live up to expectations.

Still, I'm very confident the Viper will be amazing in the ride and handling dept. The proclimb sleds I rode were really good. It didn't take a ton of effort to throw a big, turbo 1100 162" onto its side in powder snow and carve.

I just can't shake my '08 Nytro experience. I had all the confidence in the world that it was going to be amazing and snow checked one without first doing a demo ride. Yeah. Don't want an experience like that again.

As said they still have the Nytro in the lineup for 2014 which were on display as the show. I asked what the scoop was on that and I was told they had some Nytro Chassis left to get rid of but they probably will be gone soon out of the lineup.

As for inside info. My main informant was at the show and I gained quite a bit of knowledge from him but not all of it. He is the one that told my buddy and I of the Cat deal months ago. He knows what few do years in advance but I will never post his name on here not to jeopordize his situation.

I think Yamaha has fallen for the usual media political hype. One magazine gets on them about weight and the others follow like lap dogs. Believe me I deal with business and politics in my line of work and this smells similar. Media pushes a perception and then drills it in every edition of their magazine and companies eventually feel compelled to listen as if the consumer was making the case all along. Yet when OSM did a real world test in 2012 with the four major brands through a variety of tests the Apex came out on top. How is it that it could do so if it weighed so much and darted so badly? I'll stick to seat of the pants when making my mind up. This is just hype. Leftover here I come...

Very true, how many articles are there out there about how heavy the 1100T is or the 1200 doo? Not many and they are right up there in weight. Instead of trying to lose the pounds, very expensive, why not try to hide the weight with handling of there current lineup instead of using a Pro Cross? The 1100T does hide it's weight very well.
