Going for the 1.5" Freeride

You might need to change the settings on the secondary but that's only once you are on the snow and you see what you're rpms are at.

I forgot to mention I have the Ulmer clutch kit. Do you think I will need to make changes with the new track?

Call Alan and discuss your new set up. He may want to modify your weights which he does for practically nothing. G.B.

Best advise, ask Ulmer. I don't have a clutch kit in the Phazer, but the Apex's Ulmer kit is setup for the Cobra/stud combination.

You are going to dig this track!!!

My Ulmer kit was originally for the Freeride. Not sure what the difference was in the kit. Best thing about Ulmers kit is it is right in the middle and any and all mods I made to sled after kit were easy to tune clutch for with just minor rivet changes. Very good investment since Yamaha stock clutching was way off.

Also putting on the Dupont sliders. Everyone with taller lugs says its a must. Ordered a new circlip for the secondary.

Man the track swap is starting to get expensive.

Well I was hoping the Freeride track would eliminate the slush buildup at the heat exchanger but it hasn't. Each time I've taken the sled out I have to stop and clean out the slush.

I guess the only thing left to do it block the front hole and I'm really thrilled about doing that.

The track hooks up nicely but the slush is the bigger issue.

Glad to see that you got some input on clutching.

Sorry to hear you are still having slush and overheating issues even with the Freeride track. You are the first person I have heard that the Freeride did not resolve this issue. I had really bad slush / overheating issues at last years TY Give Away ride in Muni. My Phazer spent more time on its side than on its skis and track. I even overheated it to the point of pissing coolant out of the overflow hose. I have almost 2,000 miles on my 1.25 x 144" track swap and have not had the slush issue come back. I was hoping that my 1.25" track solved the issue once and for all.

G.B.

The slush issue was the major driver for the track upgrade. Its mostly ungroomed trails right now - maybe it will improve.

I have some helmet cam video of me stopping all the time to clean it out (I have a temp gauge) :)

If a Skidoo 900ACE TNT wasn't almost $14K here...

Just close the front. 12000mi and no issues because of closing it. Remember to trim off the sides of the aluminum shield that touches tunnel. Its the one with the rubber strips. If you have the newer style with plastic on bottom of tank throw that plastic away.
