Well, after a realization that the boost levels I run with the heashim only require 91 octane fuel, and I have 110(propane) that I burn, Its time to ditch the shim to get some of my bottom end back. I thought it was just my motor dying until I took the thing down in elevation and it got WAY better on the bottom. SO out comes the shim and a new gasket is on its way right now.
Here is my main question, I had to slot one of the cam gears, I cant remeber which, either way, should I just put the cam timing back totally stock or is there a more idea setup even with the stock CR??
the lag for like 5 minutes is killing me, so im hopping this makes as much a difference as riding 4k feet lower did.

I was told to advance exhaust cam and retard intake cam and keep the overlap 113-114. I really dont know the ins and outs of these engines yet but this is what I have been told. I know there are other here who know more.

thats what mine is setup at right now. the exhaust cam gets advanced just by doing the shim, and the intake is retarded a few degrees to compensate and get it right around 114 overlap.
it makes sense, now I just have to think about putting it all back together.

I had seen a diagram on how to degree the cams, but it got lost in the piles of info i have been reading lately. My engine has 10:1 wisecos and a head shim. previous owner was running 50-50 93 and c12. I have been thinking of pulling shim and running c12 at all times. premium is $4.00 per gallon, I can get c12 for just under $5.00 per gallon. more power = more fun right!!!!!!!!

If your racing put it back to the stock position ,I had mine at 112 lob centers and just put it back to the stock position on 20 psi and she runs much faster on 660 ft runs.

well, i only plan on running around 15# max right now, and much higher elevations.. so that sounds good to me. Not really rushing, just want my bottom end back.
sounds like it should be a ripper out of the hole now.
