timing questions...

well, dug into it, slotted the holes.. to get 6 degrees you have to totally open the one up.. I would test it in the garage.. but im running my tanks out to install my new big single 12 gallon one tommorow.. also I got the idiot light to go away as I got the tps installed, im getting the end for it cut out of a wiring harness, so its gonna be nice and cleanly wired in..hoping to do some testing either thursday or on saturday afternoon... maybe sunday at the latest.. lets hope it works out a hair better!!

How did you get 6 degrees advance?, here was mine retarded 2 degrees, when I shimmed the head I went back to the stock position.

in reality i probably went more like 4-5*.. i just slotted the holes so i could put it all the way over with the left bolt in your picture against the black box.. i even turned the head of the thing down to allow more room.

my math on the thing showed me that .24inches was 6* and so i just went as much as i could space wise.. either way, thats a lot of timing and should help things out now. also gonna adjust my tps so that its a little on the higher side coming off idle. it should work a lot better with just the base level advance, and now a tps to tell it what to do as well..

also got a 12 gallon tank in the mail.. the SOB IS BIG!!!!... oh well, making it fit so i dont have to worry about spare fuel.

hahaa.. yeah, the problem was that it actually wouldnt even burn it at lowere levels getting into boost.. needed more advance.. propane burns really goofy, much slower then gas, so it needs the timing to be way advanced...

got the new tank mounted, now just putting fittings in it and getting ready to put some pressure to it. then some heat sheilding around the nose to protect it from the turbo1!!

Pretty cool running on propane, get it up to 6 to get it right from the get go :-) I'm looking forward to here about how she rides when done.
