I know I know another one of these damn threads.

Anyways I will get on with it, Is $9,500 a good or decent deal for a new 2009 RTX? After having one problem after the other with my Doo I am thinking about trading it in. The dealer has a RTX, but I like to get some air when I can and ride fast when I can. With some of the problems I have been reading about it I am a little scared that with me being 245lbs the sled is going to fall apart beneath me. I do love the Apex and am trying to find a 2010, but the only Apex they have is a used 07. After having my Doo I swore I would rather take a season off than buy something used again. Will I like the Nytro or will I find myself riding the Apex when no one else is?

Thanks, :yam:

This is a tough sled. I have been pounding mine and seems to be holding up better than any past sleds. Fit and finish is excellent. I was at 9k out the door for the same sled with 2 year YES. I feel my deal was not a great deal. I had very little choice because they were the only ones willing to accept my seized Artic Cat on trade. Couple notes: If you're in the Northeast not alot of inventory hence prices seem to stay a little higher. Crazy deals on 08's. The 09's with a number of the kinks worked out tend to command a better price and resale.

I am kind of in the same boat, the dealer I purchased my Doo from before last season failed to check over the sled before selling it to me after they took it in on a trade. Now I only have 500+ miles on the sled and the mag side is fried, I made a comment of it on their website and a couple days later the owner called me and seems to want to make things right. This makes my choice of dealerships non existent. I am going to see if they will do a dealer swap for a 2010 Apex GT or if they are willing to come down a little one the Nytros price. What would be a reasonable price for a brand new 09 RTX or 2010 Apex GT? I know when we bought our 06 GT we paid $11,500 out the door and that was a little high.

Just bought a 2010 RTX SE from Port Yamaha for $9999.00 w/ 5 year Y.E.S. warranty less than $400 to ship to PA. Call them I think they have 1 left, they were great to deal with. They may have some RTX left if you don't care about the shock package.

Give John a call at delaware sports center in walton-- if thats not to far away for you? I got my 09 xtx last year for 8700.00 plus tax thru him. They have a website too, but not to many sleds listed. They have 3 08 leftover vectors listed for 8000.00

/Not sure where you are looking but if it is CNY that is very high. I think I paid 10,400 out the door for my 09 SE at the same dealer. Brand new 09 I would think would be in the low to mid 8 K range. Suggested price on an RTX for 09 was 11,100. I would think between 8500 and 9 K is a much better price for a 2 year old sled. As Apexer said, he paid 9900 for a 10 SE. 9500 is way too high for a 09 rtx. JMO. I bet ya they would go down to 85-8700. The snow is melting and they do not want to hold onto a sled that is two years old for another year. Good luck

8500.00 3 weeks ago.

CNY is at 9600 out the door for a plain 2010 Nytro, it is a nice sled and they do have a 2010 Nytro XTX there that is beautiful. Supposedly a week ago they were selling them for around $8000, but now oddly when I go in there they can not do that deal anymore. I did get to demo a 2010 Nytro around their field and loved the power. Once I got use to it I was easily doing 150 yard wheelies and if I had more field I could of kept going, but what I didn't like is how tippy it was. Some people say the Apex is tippy and that is what I was expecting, but this thing could hardly take a turn in a field I could only imagine how it would handle in the woods. My brother also took a used 07 RTX Apex out with a modded airbox, programmer, 144" x 1.75-2.0" track, and a 8-10" riser. The thing was fast and sounded great but handled terribly compared to our GT. I could easily lift the skis for a 100+ yards, but as soon as it came down it was very scary and unstable. I know I should buy another Yami since I have had very good luck with them, but I am planning on demoing a 800Etec this week and will make up my mind then. I do want to give thanks to CNY for understanding that I want to continue looking before I make a decision and I think the snowmobile sales manager(?) is a great guy every time I go in there he is a great help.

That is a lot of cash for a 2 year old sled. I guess the 2 feet of snow they got last week made them think CRAZY thoughts. Again I spring ordered my 09 and got a good deal from them, not the best but good. What they are asking for a 2 year old left over with the snow rapidly melting is crazy. What I can tell you is the NYTRO takes some time to get used to and you have to be an active rider to ride it, there is no sitting and just going. It does take some time to dial in, but I think it sounds like you are a more sit back rider which means the apex or 10 vector would be a better sled for you. I absolutely love my nytro. It takes the big bumps well on the Hill and is a blast to ride in the corners but again I like to get into the corner with the sled. IT has taken me two years to figure out butman.... Is this thing fun to ride.
I would tell CNY that they are crazy to ask so much for an 09 and would not thinnk about purchaing it unless they go below 8700.JIMO

Actually I am a stand up aggressive rider, I had to force myself to sit while riding to be sure I liked the seat.

Ulmer if I was looking for a used sled I would certainly be more than interested, but I have had terrible luck with used equipment and am set on buying a new one.

In my opinion, after buying a 09 nytro rtx se brand new and having to spend LOTS of money on it, I say you would be way better off buying ulmers used nytro. He already spent a ton of money on the shocks, and added wheels and larger wheels for the horrible hyfax wear among other things. plus its gonna run better and have more power than a new stock rtx...

After testing a e-tec if you still want a nytro, I'd buy a used one that is already set up. Save lots of money and it will be way better than a new one which is a total disaster out of the crate. And its not like the motors wear out like a two stroke...its everything else that wears out. SJ is a member here on TY that also had a nice xtx for sale that would be a awesome used sled thats already set up.

If it means anything, I sold my 09 rtx se which I had about 15k into for 8500 and I'm ordering a e-tec 800.
