The upper left A arm on my Attak was bent over the weekend by a minor hit by another sled its not bent bad just slightly and I see no reason why I couldnt ride the sled the rest of the season like it is but I would still like to replace the A arm and would like to know how big of a job it is to get to the bolts and also how much I should expect to pay for a new upper A arm....Thanks! drf

You will probably have to replace both a-arms, bolts and some bushings.
you have to remove the battery to reach the nuts on the bolts, there isnt a whole lot of room in there. I had to do both a-arms on the right side.
Had my dealer do the change for me but i cant give you an accurate cost, i also had them do an oil change and had to mcgyver one bushing so i could ride that weekend. If i had to guess should be around $525-$600 if dealer does it. Most of the $ were parts.

Yes i did that same thing on my 03 rx1 and it cost me like 400 bucks out of pocket to fix it and yes i could drive it that way,but i was able to get some take off parts cheaper from a dealer who had been installing pioneer wide front end kits, now if it was me and it was going to cost you anywhere 400 bucks, just get the wide front end kit from pioneer,it saves 6lbs and is 2" wider and rails way better, much flatter for 500 bucks complete.drfbuster said:The upper left A arm on my Attak was bent over the weekend by a minor hit by another sled its not bent bad just slightly and I see no reason why I couldnt ride the sled the rest of the season like it is but I would still like to replace the A arm and would like to know how big of a job it is to get to the bolts and also how much I should expect to pay for a new upper A arm....Thanks! drf

I had to replace both sides so I ordered the pioneer front end widening kit and it seems to improve the tippy feeling. The cost of the pioneer kit is almost half the price of ordering from Yamaha and you can still sell your good side.

Did you do this on an apex/attak,how much did it improve on this new sled. I know it helped alot on the rx1s but have yet to see any mods of this kind on the 06.gamer 1 said:I had to replace both sides so I ordered the pioneer front end widening kit and it seems to improve the tippy feeling. I had only a couple hundred miles on the RTX before switching to the pioneer kit .Have about 600 miles on the kit and it is certainly more stable than stock.Rode three hundred miles this past week and even in the tight twisties only had let off the gas a couple of times due to ski lift.Definatly would recomend the kit if you have to purchase new arms.
