Tried a search, but no luck. Guess I don't have it down yet, because I don't get specific results.
I have a used '03 Shorty with 1700 miles. It has a 1-1/4" track and 144 picks. After two Cats broke on Sunday, I started hearing noises. Kind of a growling coming from the front of the tunnel. The trails were hard packed and it seamed to happen at lower speeds. Seems if it was a shaft or bearing, it would squeal or grind. Was I hearing gremlins or is there something to be concerned about?

Maybe it was Cat parts getting sucked up into your tunnel?
Seriously, did you check for ice in your tunnel? I know this happens with mine. I took a 20 pound chunk of ice out a couple of weeks ago.
Some people have had problems with the bearing. Below are a couple of threads I found on the topic.

Also could be a rattling heat shield. At just the right speed, if its bent just the right way, you can get some interesting sounds.
Ice would be my first suspicion, but the left drive bearing was rough on mine when it was apart this season.

I'd read the posts on the jackshaft bearing regarding the jackshaft bearing keeper in the secondary clutch side.
I noticed mine makes a growling sound too after I changed the track. I only hear (and feel) it on deceleration. Mine sounds like the front left side of the tunnel. Like either the speedo bearing or the jackshaft bearing on the left side. But again only on deceleration.
I'll be watching to see what you find. good luck. PB
