guages wont work

hey guys, i have a 06 apex and on the last couple of rides last year the guages ,tach etc. flashed on, then would go out. a little while later they came back on.now the tach is stuck on 10k. i checked the little relays by the left footwell and they all seem fine.
the headlight and taillight work fine.
any ideas?

Check the connection at the back of the gauge, maybe unplug it and plug it back in.
If that didn't work, disconnect the battery and reconnect it. Maybe it'll reset.

well if it was just the speedo it might be that but with the sled just idling the gauges will light up just for a second or two but then go back out.could it still be that? wouldn't that just stop the speedo?
(oh yeah this is not a arctic cat, that goes through bearings yearly lol )
i have pulled and tugged and wiggled all the wires and the guage pod itself but nothing seems to make a difference.
anybody else have any ideas?

The gauge itself might be shot. Barrow one from a buddy and plug it in and see if stops. If a different gauge does the same thing, then it's a short somewhere.

well i took the speedo to my brother in laws. tried it in his sled and it acted the same way, ran his in my sled and it worked fine. so i guess my speedo is just junk. looking for a used speedo,anyone got one???
