Gutting stock mpi muffler info please

Hey looking at gutting my stock mpi quiet muffler!
Do i remove everything and leave a empty chamber?
Where is the best place to cut/ for weld?
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Would definitely cut on the backside to keep the trail police at bay.

Once gutted the insulation and sheet metal will be reinstalled
