I noticed it takes a while before my hand and thumb warmers come up to temperature, so today I timed it! The temperature in our area was down to zero this morning, I started up the Warrior and put the settings on high for both the hand and thumb warmers. After fifteen minutes they just started to warm up, then twenty minutes had gone by and they where warm but not hot. When I'm riding it they do get hot after a while, but I would think that they should heat up faster  Any feedback would be appreciated

I only rode mine once but I do remember shutting them down because they got hot. It happened pretty quick too. You might want to check your's out.

The ones on this Warrior seem to warm up fairly well however the RX-1 I had last year would not start heating until the motor was at operating RPM(4000+)/later

Never really notices it while warming up but mine are just way to hot a few miles into the trip they will burn your hands.
Last years rx-1 was the same.

Bob Miller,
If your grips are OK electically an old trick is to spray expanding insulation foam into the bars. The idea being you only loose heat to the outside air and not in the tube. CHeap and may work for You. Yamadoo

Bob,
I expierienced a simliar problem.I was in Hearst Ont,this last week.It got down to -30 and my hand warmers felt cold to the touch.Even after riding for 60 miles.I had to put heat packs in my mittens.I plan on taking mine in to get them checked out.

Even though these sleds have a battery and electric start, the warmers act exactly like my previous Cats did. If you need heat in the bars, the engine needs to see about 8000 rpm for about a minute. Then your hands will be cooking, and you can set the warmers to their lowest setting and be good to go.
Same problem with my 03 rx-1. The warmers work, but take about 10-15minutes to heat up while riding. Once they get hot, things are ok. The thumb heats up much quicker than the hand warmers. I think someone posted last year that they will not heat up at idle. My 01 600r would melt your hands in a matter of minutes, the rx-1 is not as hot.

Talked to the service dept at Greqoire Sport in St Ambrose Canada, and he told me this is the way they have them set up! Once the RPM's come up, so do the handwarmers  Oh well I'll be hooking up my gauntlets 8)
