I'm new to the site, and just picked up an 08 nytro rtx this year. I installed the PMT relocator yesterday, and now my handlebars don't align straight with the skis, and the skis themselves are out of alignment. I tried searching the forums for hours and couldn't really find any help. ( I really need pictures) Any help would be appreciated. Also, how much left to right movement should the skis have without the handlebars turning? They seem a little loose.
Thanks guys

Adjust the relay rod that comes off the lower steering post. Loosen the two jam nuts and spin the center to realign handlebars. Having a set of metric crows foot wrenches makes this adjustment much easier.

The steering post relocate shouldn't have changed toe. If you do need to reset toe You'll need to get to the inner tie rod ends and loosen the jam nuts. I remove the two bolts holding the ecu in place so it drops out of the way. Loosen the jam nuts on the inner and out tie rod ends (outer ends are LH threads and inner are RH) then turn the tie rods equally on both sides. Re-tighten jam nuts. Some like to remove the spindle bolt so they can rotate just the outer tie rod ends instead of turning the tie rod itself. I don't like to but if you do make sure there is enough threads remaining in the tie rod. I recommend setting toe to 1/2" out.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but how is spinning the relay rod going to straighten my handle bars with the skis? Front end need to be off the ground? The steering post relocate shouldn't have changed toe. If you do need to reset toe You'll need to get to the inner tie rod ends and loosen the jam nuts. As you move the rod it will lengthen or shorten depending on which way you are turning it. Also when adjusting your toe out put a bungy across the 2 ski tips with just a little pressure not very much just to take out any looseness. Good luck

Leave it on the ground with the skis pointing forward when you make adjustments. The handlebars only will move when you turn the relay rod. Lengthening it moves the handlebars to the left and shortening it moves them to the right.

Last question...do both jamb nuts on the relay rod turn the same way to loosen them? The back one is stuck. Sorry about all the questions, I'd just hate to mess it up.. Ones left hand and the other right hand. I'm not sure which is which but I thought the front was the RH.

Hey Guys, sorry for posting this here, but can't seem to post a new post, Iam looking for a decent sled mechanic from Bay City to west branch Michigan area, I live in Standish,Mi even someone seasoned who works out of house is good, I also have heated garage with coffee when needed, thanks Larry 9893241835. Might have stator issue, if not for future work.Leave it on the ground with the skis pointing forward when you make adjustments. The handlebars only will move when you turn the relay rod. I just finished my PMT install and the steering adjustment.....there was a few choice words fer the Yammie engineers echoing in the garage !! LOL
The lower jam nut turns left or upward and the upper or closer to you jam nut turns in the same direction upward or left.
Turn the skis all the way left to get the relay rod up towards you. I was able to get both my hands down in there and use a stubby 14mm wrench and got the lower jamb nut free...will be a bitch if you have big mitts...my lil girlie hands paid off this time! lol

Oh and BTW....I am still having trouble with how stiff the steering is with my PMT relocator. I emoried the steering shaft areas, used the slight amount of grease but still have stiff steering even with the bolts not tightened all the way down.

if ur having problems getting to the front of the sled the plastic nose piece comes off with a few screws/push clips I believe. makes life must easier. if ur system is tight then something is binding. shouldnt need any lube in theory. u got a bur or something digging into the bushings? i got the oft one but it cant be much different. i know if the bottom bolts were not bent all the way the blocks were no in line and would cause it to get tight when u tightened the nuts all the way down. call PMT otherwise and ask.
