20lbs seems like a pretty good weight savings to me. I'll take what i can get. I also was going to try this but its kinda pricy without knowing how it works.

Allen the pic in the magazine is kinda crappy. Looks like U don't use the rear strap is that correct? And do u use the stock front straps? Thanks

Almost half of that weight reduction comes from the fact that it does not use any of the stock idler wheels. Put a stock idler wheel (including bracket) on a scale and you will be shocked...
Still, I am also interested in feedback from this kit. Not because of the weight reduction, but because I want to know how the AC geometry changes the behaviour of the FX Nytro. Anyone...?

I have it and will put it on next week. Will have my rail powdercoated first as it looks like #*$&@ after only 600 km (400 miles).
I have a 2011 MTX 162" and have all the idlerwheels off from it was new. I have 6 of the 8" billet wheels from billetx.com (4 in rear axle). Weight on this suspension is 28 kg (62 pounds).
I did put it all on a scale and the weight with the Yamaha supension is 23 kg(51 pounds). I think Timbersled is around 40 for the 162". Correct?
I see that i have to rebuild the front axle mount in the tunell . Drill new holes and cut out the steel plate inside and move it. This worry me a little bit.
The setup is different from stock as the center shall have lot more air and rear lot less.

The behavior of the cat skid is what I like. I haven't spent a ton of time on one in a nytro but the tine I have spent it still works the same as the one I put in my mountain max. It doesn't wheelie nearly as easy. When you take off it seems to take the shock and then push forward. I feel like the stock nytro skid just wants to trench down when you hit it. I have a full cat takeout I will be putting in my nytro this week hopefully.

Talked to a dealer today and he told me it rode a little better and would get on top of the snow quicker with a stock sled. He also informed me that with a turbo it wheelies too much.

I bought a kit from Allen Ulmer and will get it installed as soon as I can. Maybe one more spring ride in the mountains, but not 100% sure on that. I'll post the weight loss and any other feedback when I get a chance to ride it.

Never got a chance to ride it and the kit never got installed becase SPG had my sled with the new front end on it to use as a test sled during the spring.
Since then, I changed my mind and will be putting the new Mountain Tamer on my MTX.
I will have the used 2010 MTX skid and the OEM rear upgrade for sale at Haydays.

curt79 I had the chance to ride an otherwise stock Nytro with this upgrade kit on it. I also have a full cat skid in my Nytro. They feel pretty much exactly the same to me. I like it a lot but I would guess it is by no means a chute climber or high horsepower skid. The rear shock on the one that I rode seemed to be a little stiff and the sled even stock seemed to be very prone to lifting the skis. I don't run my shock that stiff and mine doesn't really do that.
