Has anyone raced an 800r?

LOL!!!......... it's all in fun boys. Added 2 grams of weight to the tip last nite to pull the rpm down abit and hopefully upshift this thing better. Mine was revving 9100 or so , the added weight should help out, but I'm thinking the center rivit needs to be lightened abit. As far as the launch I have been playing with that already and seem to have the ski lift somewhat under control. The track was readjusted again and hopefully the racheting is gone today. I realize it needs miles , but somewhat of a comparison is needed before I put all my goodies in. From what I hear from friends I wanna be racing him outta the hole cause the Doo supposedly is a little sluggish out the gate, we'll see today.
I have to admit , coming of a full mod 800 Polaris, this Nytro is gonna be fun to play with. Love this sled so far .

I went with my buddy last nite to pickup his 800X Renegade. Man that is one bad #*$&@ looking sled, better than the pics show. I love both Skidoos and Yammis, and I'd love to have that sled. I should be picking up a Nytro here fairly soon, and him and I will straight up race, probably 1000 times in the next three months. I'll be back with report ASAP as well.

The problem with this question is that there are only 4 people in the US who have actually received their 800's. LOL.

Thats too bad, here in Saskatchewan they have had em for two weeks already.
Just heard on the phone that a 1000 Cat will be riding with us today also. Should be a good day of driving all the other brands. Hopefully the Yammi shows a good face today. Sleds on the trailer waiting, later boys.

do some of you really race your friends as much as u say. We ride like our hair is on fire but rarely do we race each other. I have a nytro coming and I really couldn't careless if a doo beats me. If I wanted to own the fastest sled I would just pert a mpi blower on either my nrto or my attak and be done with it.

I will have many battles with 800R's this year. Im the only 1 that jumped ship the day my 800R came in. Said thanks but money back please then off to the Yamaha dealer. I think they'll get me on the straights but in the tight and twisties will be a different story. The best pic will be when im towing those 800X's back with my Yamaha :4STroke:

There is alot to be said about this subject - you have "friendly" racing, then you have "cut your throat racing" - I prefer the friendly type - but once it becomes the cut your throat kind, it sort of takes the fun out of it!!! - I guess I'm just not that serious of a person when it comes to winning or losing at something - if you can keep it friendly, it is a whole lot more fun!!! JMO!!!

I hope you guys didn't buy a Nytro to race 800R's! I think the 800 will have you by almost 20 HP. I know I didn't buy My Nytro to beat anybody. I bought it for My Wife to ride and when she isn't I'll be riding it. I wanted her to get a 4 stroke and she felt that My Apex was too big for her and she liked her Rev. From what I'm hearing the Nytro is very Rev-like and will be good for her. I know in My limited saddle time it feels much lighter and smaller than My Apex and the power is for real. Is it 800R for real, I don't know but if I were a betting man I would say the 800 should be faster but not more fun to ride.

I can't see the nytro running with the 800...maybe the Apex...but the nytro and 800 are really in two different classes...

We will have the results from this lil debate tomorrow. Will also be racing the 800 R against the SC nytro.

The SC should solve any issues with the 800R lol.

Hahah just a little eh? It gets the stock nytro by about 8 lenghts in 450'. Thats all we got till tomorrow. My XP 800 R has no gas in it so we couldn't run today and I was to lazy to go to the gas station.

Well just got in from a day of wfo riding. The 800r is for real this year. Keeping in mind the fields we were running in were a little sugary right now the Nitro did okay. IN 660 as long as the Nitro got out the gate it would be a couple lengths back sometimes closer. This was a 136 800r with a 1.25 . This with the doo having a couple hundred miles ( off the chip) and mine around 130ish now. Both sleds near empty.
The stock track is just nowhere enough for the sled once it gets out in the mid. The two grams I put in............ I ended up taking outa gram to get the revs around 8800. Today the handwarmers worked better but noticed the handguards could be turned down abit cause the fingers stick below them with no protection from wind.
Also I filled the tank before we left, I put on 85 miles and still had one bar left when I pulled it in the garage. We rode HARD!!!
Overall sled is awesome and like I said very enjoyable to drive. There is more in this sled to be had yet with clutching AND gearing. Yamaha has a nice out of the box sled here.

8 lengths in 450'? was the Nitro tied to a tree? What about the low end grunt? Oh by the way "The flipper is on the right!!@!!!!" Keep em coming. Was this on hard pack or in 2 ft of snow again? I drag all the time w/ my buddies and who ever joins in on the lake. Always in fun, then trash talk each other. I guess if some people really get P.O.'d they shouldn't play.
