Has anyone switched from Edge RMK to XTX?

Hey guys, I'm new to the site and looking to go back to Yamaha possibly next season. I've done quite a bit of reading about the Nytro's in the past couple months, and the more I read, I think the more interested become. I'm interested in the XTX and would be considering putting a trail tank, a vent kit, and possibly a 1.75" or 2" track with extroverts on as mods. A no brainer for me would also include a riser and heavy springs. I'm 6'2" and approx 280-300lbs with my gear on.

I'm interested in first hand experience from someone who has switched from a Polaris Edge chasis (preferably an RMK) to the Nytro. My current ride is a 2004 RMK 600 with a few mods....mostly suspension upgrades and am having a hard time letting go of it. I really like how this thing is in the deep stuff and enjoy the throttle response for when I need to use every bit of the 144"x2" track. But sadly, I feel it's time to move on to something different. I'm looking hard at going 4 stroke.

From what I've been reading, the front end structural issues I can kinda get over, as well as the slide wear and handwarmers. I feel there are decent aftermarket solutions to get around these. I'm mainly concerned on how the thing handles in the deep stuff. I've tried both the '08 short track and long track versions, and liked the low end pull that they had. I just didn't have enough saddle time to really get a feel for the limits of the selds. Can anyone give me a FIRST HAND experienced opinion?

Okay, I realize this is a slow time of year...either that or nobody has switched.

Has anyone put a 2" track on an XTX? I'm very curious as how they are in the snow.

I used to ride a 2002 edge rmk 700 136, had a great time with it and like you, I read a lot about the nytro. I bought the 09 xtx and will never go back to two strokes. this thing rips!! seems like it has more power than the 700. TORQUE MONSTER!! If I were you, go with the xtx, you won't regret it.

I've owned a 02 700 rmk 700 with all the bolt ons and also a 02 800 151 full mod. The ride is NO comparison between the two as the nytro after a full day of bangin around keeps your back intact. Power wise the motor works great. When my Nytro was stock except the heelclicker two speeds and the 144 x 1.75 my sled would run REAL hard in a 1000 foot drag race with whatever I ran against. Even in the mountains it worked better then expected. Now that it is turboed it works EXREMELY well. Not to mention , I just don't miss that two stroke smoke.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've heard good things about the 1.75 backcountry track as well.

Topgun, as much as I'd love to run a turbo, it just isn't in the budget. Some mild clutching and possibly gearing could possibly happen though. I'm not about top end, and feel the low end torque that I've experienced on the nytro's that I have tried, is more about what I'm looking for.
