I have an FX Nitro XTX and I really need to get new skis for better floatation in the powder. I ride the packed trails and deeper snow 50/50. I was thinking about Curve XS or the SLP powder pros. Has anyone tried both yet to see the difference?

curves or simmons
I have the curve xs with a 7.5" shaper bar for my 09 RTX SE which works well for me and my buddy has simmons gen 2's on his 09 xtx which he really likes. His has the dual carbides which definitely eliminates darting. The pricing is a little steep for either set, but they both work.

Go with the powder pros, I had the curves on my xtx and absolutely hated them. I put back on the yamaha mountain skis and qualipieces cobra head runners and all is well.

Thanks for the info. I also have a friend with the simmons gen I skis and he really likes them, but I wanted something just a little wider for more floatation. Looks like the SLP's are the way to go. Does anyone know where the best place is to order them from?

I have the Sly dog powder hounds on my 08 Nytro RTX and absolutely love them. It is amazing how well they float the front end in the deep stuff. They are great on the trail as well, I have the 6" Bregstrom Skegs and no darting but there is a little increased steering effort at low speeds!!
Hope this helps

What does this mean "I have the 6" Bregstrom Skegs" I don't know very much about skis, so any info will help. Thanks.
