any one have any bright ideas on how to FIX the high low issue on our headlights. I was wondering if the system would hold up if we reconfigured the switch to turn on both high & low side of STOCK bulbs on Bright & only low filament on low. I have tried the Silver stars and even some higher priced units. BANDAID The problem looks to me like it is still in the reflector/ diffuser assembly?

`I hear you, yeah it is in the reflector. Only idea I have is to try and shim the bulb thus changing the focal point and perhaps the overlap of the reflectors. But I just havent had time to make shims and play around for a possible improvement.

I put bright lites in my sled from Dennis Kirk they are 100/90 watts hopefully this makes a big difference find out soon when your going fast you can outrun your headlights
also when the skis are off the ground most of the time this seems to be a problem how about a gyroscopic headlight that moves to the varying conditions just one of my ideas

just an $.02 added to the post above........
using 90/100 bulbs in place of the 55/60 watters has been reported to melt wires and light fixtures on a few cars and motorcycles.
Could work fine on the Yamaha sleds with no damage, not sure.....just keep the caution in mind when doing the higher watt bulbs.

This could be your answer without increasing your wattage. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... highlight=

i have 3 06 apexs
all of them low is too low high is too high mostly on the
supercharged sled
i dont think you can adjust for this problem
does anyone know if the 07 are any better or
are the 08 going to be better
i would buy a head light assy if i had too
what about running high and low on at the same time will
this be too much heat/wattag
thanks

wonder if moving the bulbs forward or rearward within the reflector would change the focal point to fix the problem? Maybe build some type of extension?

not real happy with after market bulbs. I bought both the silverstars and another set that cost $100. The high dollar ones did not last 3oo miles. Still do not fix the aiming issue between high & low

one note...I'm sure most of you know this but for those who dont do not touch the glass (even with clean hands) or the bulb life will be greatly diminished...
if you happened to have already done so...clean with alcohol

started looking at the Viper lens. The reflectors are much wider. Wonder if could disect a used one of them and combine them. Do not remember, didn't the Viper have great lights. Never looked at a RX-1 yet, but I know they had great lights. want to figure something out before start of season. Stock lights SUCK
