Was wondering if anyone knew where to get the heated shield adapter that plugs right into your cigarette lighter jack??? Heard you had to up the fuse for the added current for the shield. :4STroke:

the consensus....dont waste your time with a plug in for a heated shield..it will short out or blow a fuse..it's way too easy to wire right to the battery and have a dependable source..

I used an after market one from Ski Doo.
Drill a hole next to acc plug and wire direct to battery

In canada you can go to "the source " and grab a 12 VOLT ADAPTER plug (universal plug)and make your own. just need some solder, couple shrink sleeves, heated shield power cord and about 15 minutes. this was a quick way to make one , cuz the dealer didn't have any in stock.

I have the Yami one and it's worked fine on mine..Don't know why others have trouble..

Maybe if left out the moisture gets in.

Heated Outlet Plug

I have the Yamaha accessory pulg also and it's nice with the LED to indicate it's on but you have to watch in the rough stuff because it will come loose. I think I will go with the ski-doo jack so I can leave the accessory jack open for temporay hook up of an A/F ratio meter, GPS or what ever.

Heated Shield Outlet

Try Port Yamaha out of Wisconsin they discount 16% off Yamaha accessories. It's Yamaha part number: SMA-DCOUT-PL-UG for $23.36

I'll sell you mine, you got a PM.

I used mine all last year in all conditions and had no problems.

Use the universal adapter that just connects to the battery, that comes with the heated shields. +/- One attatches to positive post and one goes on negative post. Run the wires up underneath the hood and beneath the handlebars. I used the cigarette adapter and it would shake loose or blow fuses. Once I used the battery adapter it worked great.

kipe1. ;)!
