Duct tape and Klim boots solve the problem.

Put the duct tap on the inside of the left to kick..towards the inside of it...works great.

I'm thinking about removing the wet foot plate on my 2009 because I don't want to ruin my clutches when the plate gets mangled because of a blown belt. From the above pics it looks like the roest skid plate covers the problem area...anybody with an 08 and no plate running a roest skid plate see an improvement with their wet left foot??

I'm with you on taking that out. That "wet foot plate" is a disaster waiting to happen, as more and more people are finding out.

I took mine out, or maybe I should say my belt took it out. Luckily all it did was mark up the secondary with a few nicks and scratches. Nothing serious, the plate looked like it went through a meat grinder. Left it out and just delt with the LBS. This year new boots, HMK waterproofs. Can't wait to have dry feet again.

I'd like to get some more input on this. I have always run my 09 without the Yamaha wet foot plate and my skid plate. I had always wondered what the wet foot problem was, because I've never experienced it. I think you may be right when you say that my skidplate "seals" up the bottom of the sled better than the flimsy OEM piece. It would be cool if this were the case.

Mine soaks my left boot big time and even though I figured out how to keep my socks dry, my buckles and laces are still a block of ice when I walk into the cabin-especially after riding powder. No big deal though, I just sit and drink a coffee and let it though out for 30 min then unlace it.
