Nytro has been dead since march...i need some help. Tested the old battery and couldn't even get a spark out of it..so I figured even if it was a stator problem the sled should still run off a new battery..so I went out and bought a $130 battery..and still not even a spark, light or urp...what do I do no guys??also put a new relay in it at the beg of last year...do you think its a relay??rub through??help and advice is much apprieciated...3 inches of snow and i'm antsy now!

are you saying it won't crank or it cranks and won't fire?

when I hook the terminals up they dont even spark...so the key has no power when turned on with a brand new battery...where do I look next??besides the dealership...would really like to figure this out.

it just really bugs me...pay enough for the payment as it is...can tear a motor apart and rebuild it from scratch but electrical gets me everytime...*isses me off...if the terminal connections dont spark when I put them on the battery...there must be a break in the circuit somewhere...I would think??

I already tried jumping it with a screw driver on the starter relay..no spark there either

Sounds like maybe a bad ground. Take it off and wire brush it. Maybe itll help.. I know you prob checked it, but what about the 30 or 40 amp fuse in the batt + wire from the relay?

it won't necessarily spark when you first hook up the battery unless it's charging capacitors in the electrical circuit or something is in the on position. as mentioned make sure you have a good ground and check your connections. all of this of course assumes the battery is properly charged. once you've made sure these things are in order go from there. as mentioned check the heavy main fuse which should be in the 30-40 amp range which i think may be near the battery then there should be another fuse in the fuse block that feeds the keyswitch that is the ignition fuse i'm guessing it should be 15 amp. check them with a voltmeter or test light. electrical really isn't as bad as people make it out to be you just need to eliminate things as you go along but just throwing parts at it is the first mistake people make. let us know what you find

Get a voltmeter and check voltage at the battery, starter relay etc. then you can properly diagnose the problem. Without a voltmeter your just guessing.

ok, so I get a volt meter from work..turn the dial to volts. Check with the key turned on? at the terminals? relay at the two bolts that you can touch a screw driver to when you have a bad relay??I replace the relay last year...this is how the sled died. Throughout the ride, each time I would start the sled it would act like a week battery, weaker and weaker every time...the next morning it turned over..then just the click..it would run with the jumper cables attatched from the truck..but would immediatly show codes spit and spudder and dye after dc them. Now, with a new battery..the thing is just as dead as having no battery...

and thank you very much for looking into this... Never had this trouble with my $2500 sxr's, vipers etc. just a 10,000 nytro
hopefully i'll be able to get this figured out here on ty where as i've been here since 04 on the 2-stroke side and haven't had to taker to the dealer since!

If you jump across the starter relay even with the key off the starter should roll the engine. If it doesn't then the starter, battery or ground wire to the engine is bad. Check the voltage between the positive post off the battery and the engine block. If you don't get the proper battery voltage then you have a bad battery ground.
