I am now having problems for the first time with my RX1. Mine is an 03 and I have not done anything differently than any other year.
I do clean the carbs every year. Could that little bit of AIr do it? I have never had the problem before. I was thinking that they thermostat was bad or something.]
My heat exchangers do not seem warm at all.

try bleeding your colant system 03rx1mn at the rear with the sled elevated. on a stand should work fine. if you do not get air out of it, you might want to check the waterpump or thermostat. after bleeding, i would do the thermostat 1st as it is cheaper and easyer to do. also make shure your coolant mix is at 50/50 as they run a lot warmer if it is too thick.
What causes this problem?
I joust bought my first sled a couple of weeks ago. Never had a sled before - never even driven one. Buying one was an impulsive decision. However, seems like it was one of the best decisions for a long time!
Reading this topic made me wonder how does the air get in the cooling system? Can air trapping be prevented somehow?
My 2004 Warrior with 3000kms had over heating problem first time last week. I was surprised by that because the weather was VERY cold, minus 21'Celsius. Could prolonged driving on very bumpy paths be a reason for air getting trapped? After that happened the first time, it has happened once every time I have been riding - but only once. Cooling down with hood open a couple of minutes has solved the problem. When driving over the lake in powder there has been no problem but slower driving on the paths will trigger over heating pretty quickly.
I will try driving my sled against steep snow bunk and opening the cap. I am very unskilled technically. The engine has to be really hot for the liquid to circulate, right? When my sled is tilted I will shut off the engine, careafully open the expansion tank cap (placing a rug over it) and then start the engine, rev it a bit and watch the bubbles come out?

rennsport, you might need the optional rear heat exchanger. i have one on mine and can still overheat if the snow is rock hard packed or i am going too slow. pack the running boards with snow if driving under 20kph as that is how i heated it up the 1st time.
