Here is a reminder to add bop tunnel hose saver during summer maintenance

I'm sure the new braided hose will fit the older models, problem being the huge pain in the #*$&@ it is to get to and at it. The BOP covers are cheap and worked well on my 2017 for over 13000kms,

Thanks for the reminder. Have been fortunate so far, but yes to adding that to the upcoming years preseason maintenance.

Has anybody seen if it is possible to retrofit the metal braid hose they are using on the 2021 sleds onto our older models?
It's not available yet! If the new hose is rigid you will probably need to remove the rear cooler and pipe running down the tunnel install the hose?
There is only a 1/4 " gap at the connection
Installing g a cover or stm tunnel protector would be much easier

As I have been thinking about that tube, I am going to replace it anyway. That little nick on mine isn't really leaking right now but that tube is not at full strength so I don't want to risk it blowing when I am riding alone and would need a sat phone to call for help.

you have to drop the exchanger. one rivet over the driveshaft that you can chisel but not replace without removing shaft/track. 27 rivets

Do you have the part number for the braided hose? I am having difficulty to find what part number it is to even get an estimate of when it will be available.

My dealer said that if I could find a part number he could get it still (if it is available).

If you didn't have a leak on the stock hose I recommend either adding bop hose protectors, or getting stm tunnel protecters or making your own cover if you are handy!! Why drill out all the heat exchanger rivets if you don't need to???
To replace the hose you need to remove the pipe going the rear heat exchanger at minimum

Already protected mine.

could you not add something like a thermal paste/adhesive where the protector touches the heat exchanger?

Now all ya need is the chaincase beefer up bracket that comes on the race sleds. Looks like the PERFECT time. 500 miles from now, thats what mine will look like.
