Just having fun, so go with me here

A new do it all chassis ( like cat did)...offer 3
different engine options...a 500 4 stroke (phazer engine)
The 1050 (nytro engine), and a super charged 1050.
Offer it in a 128, 144, 154, and 162 lengths.
It should be 50 to 75 lbs lighter.
It should have good wind protection ( not another nytro)
Id like to see an all plastic version of the mono with megaa
Float shock, for the 128 length sleds.

or maybe yamaha can start supplying cat with engines...put
a super charged nytro engine in that new cat xf chassis, and
I'd buy one tomorrow.[/quote]

Well lets see how great that new chassis is first. How about hyfax issues fixed by adding bigger wheels and just running aftermarket skis as they just cant seem to get that right. They make a great motor and just roll over for some reason.

I agree with both of you. If they had 1 chassis they'd be able to keep up with Doo. Start with a Nytro chassis, have 3 engine options & 4 track lengths like you said, a base, RTX, and a GT/SE model, 10 gallon gas tank (12+ on GT?), large windshield on GT, Fox shocks all around on RTX, regular shocks and cheap price on base, and find a way to drop a few pounds off (or at least make the COG lower) so they handle better. And of course, better skis. ;)!

I dont think the Nytro sled is for everybody. It has to be somewhere between the Apex/Vector and the Nytro.

Like I said....one chassis...calibrate the suspensions different for
Agressive riders ( stiffer like cat sno pro)...softer for trail joes...but
only one chassis.

I agree with u guys too...use the after market more for
various products (skis to windshields)

Lower cg has to happen....the cg being too high is the
biggest detriment to yamahas handling (nytro and apex both)

Including all of the above, I would also like to see Yamaha remove the jackshaft and go to a direct drive. Also, get rid of separate emergency brake that can set your sled on fire. This would get rid of some weight.

If your look at past yamaha models(exciter SX,Vmax 600XT,RS nytro)you see sleds that are a stop-gap measure until yamaha lets go both barrels(1997 trailing arm chassis comes to mind). This year the stop gap measure is the spring order turbo nytro. So you can say next year will be something all new.Heres my look into the crystal ball. All new 750cc triple four-stroke(105HP),pistons set really low in the crankcase(patent site shows a yamaha IP to lower the CG and make the motor more compact),No gear reduction(just like the nytro).Fifty pounds lighter than the Nytro(Full wet weight should be under 550 pounds). All new chassis with the trick bulkhead from the nytro snocross sled. Also stick a turbo on a mountain version right from the factory,150+ HP should do it.Pretty sure from what my dealer told me there maybe more than one all-new model yamaha sled next year. The next new iron will showcase the evolution of the four-stroke yet again.Yamaha has surprised us before, and put the fear of god in the competition. It will happen, just the matter of when.

How about something that doesn't weigh a million pounds?

Lowslung....i agree...i also have been hearing about possible
new yamaha models...(i believe I have an excellent secret source)...and if what he is telling me is true, yamaha fans are gonna be happy....but I hate saying anything, because hearsay..is just that...hearsay...and people tend to get pissy
about rumors. I feel bad for the guys who jumped ship to cat and doo...i think they will be kicking them selves by next
March...but we will see.

Well put, Mr Bottlerocket!!!!

And I'd be po'd if they ever dropped the 4 cyl engine found in the Apex. It's Yamsha's best engine IMHO....

Super sled...i love my attack too...but i'd be pretty happy
with a supercharged nytro motor...id probably forget
about my 4 cylinder..lol 185 hp and probably close on weight.

Same here(but my dealer don,t know any hard facts) but my dealers track record has been about 80% correct on future models(except the four-stroke bravo for 2010 back four years ago :o| ).What we know for sure it won,t be an entry level sled(the SLED BLOG survey from Chris Reid puts a entry level sled at least 3 to 4 model years away if it gets the green light). My money is on a lightweight model between the phazer and nytro(but i been wrong before).I also agree about the heresay, don,t want to stir the pot to fast.

I love my Apex the way that it is. All Stock
