Why on a front mount can't get it to spool the turbo with a msd launch master?

Depends on lots of factors. Size of turbo, a/f ratio and ignition timing, heat of turbo and header, cams and cam timing.

Are you trying to pop it and spool the turbo?

Poping burns fuel out the header and superspools the turbo. If it dosnt pop it won't spool to high.

oh yes, pops with flames
2854 garrett
stock timing
engine temp was 150
i'm sure turbo was hot
We think my engagement was too low
3400 to 3500 rpm

Go past 4000, more like 4300+ then you will have fireworks :-)

brought the engagement up to 5000 rpm. The first few times i tried it, the turbo spooled up. By the time i made it to the track it wouldn't build any boost again. Will it not pop as hard when the engine gets hotter? One guy i talked to at the track said that he had leaned his down alittle bit to get it to pop hard. Now to get Simons CPR stock settings for the pure logic controller. Anybody have them? Or anymore suggestions?

are you running the rb3 yet? I might switch to it. i need to get a better stutter that pulls timing and fuel to get it to pop better and spool the turbo for launch

I do have RB3 but the stutter option on that is a joke at best. I could only get 1-2 lbs boost built at the line. and that was set at 3400 RPM.

Once you get used to the RB3 it is so much better then the Pure Logic box. The sled runs so much nicer as well. But you have to get a lap top every time you want tot change. Dave at powderlites has some good base line maps, and depending on your set up. I have some real good maps that are good for 800-1000 above sea level that I could send you to try if you decide to go that route.

I cant wait to try the MSD though and see how that works!!

Save your money on the msd. The only time i get it to pop good enough is when the engine is cold. and i still only get a couple of lbs of boost. Get a white heelclicker spring and bring your engagement up. It will bring it to about 5000 rpm. It will get the engine out of the bog range. We did it to switchbacks' sled this weekend and he took 1st in 700 mod and 2nd in 800 mod and i took 3rd in the same class. 3400 is to low. 4300 is about the lowest you can go. At least with the rb3 it pulls timing and fuel i believe which i need when the engine gets warm to get a good pop out of it which start to spool the turbo up
