Well I am finally back on the snow on the XTX after the motor blow. Carillo rods, Wiseco pistons and quick spool waste gate still waiting on the correct fuel pump to take it to 10#'s of boost but at 6 it is way more aggressive than it was stock and 6#'s.

I am easily seeing 107 and there is plenty left in her. AFR is now between 10.9 and 11.4 at 6#'s and 8860 rpms. Its a new motor and I waited 200 miles of another break in to do this run which is short, so don't get your panties in a bunch. I only rode 60 miles this day and could not ride the next because my arms hurt so much, I could not use my hands from the launches.

I have another video I will download but it is longer with several launches and I have to let off casue the skis come 3' off the ground. 0 to 100 mph is blinding and I am not sure if I will be able to ride it with 10#'s of boost, but it will be nice to be able to flip the switch when I want it.

I can't believe your riding your sled like that when it's newly rebuilt! Don't come on here and complain when this motor blows! It needs 503.7 miles of break in! Fist 200 miles under 6000 rpm, then 200 miles below 8000 rpm with very little WOT periods, then 2000 miles of less than 4259 rpm, then you have to warm up the turbo first too! Man your stupid to ride without warming up the turbo first. You have to take a lighter to it for ten minutes to get her nice and warm! And you sure are abusing your belt. You need to break that in for a minimum of 3000 miles! No wonder why your crab breaks! :moon:

YamahaTim You Ignorant Slut

First of all I have purchased a man to sleep in my trailer every night with a hair dryer blowing in the intake to keep the engine temp at over 100 degs at all time. When I return he drains the oil and antifreeze, tears down the motor and mic's the rings and bearings. He then rebuilds the motor with all new parts. He then rides it for 503.7 miles under breakin guidelines and performs an oil change prior to my awaking. I ride my 17.25 miles and then he does it all over again.

While I am off riding he keeps my magnums of DOM at a perfect 34 deg and my Lobster at 165 Deg

Well that's your problem right there! I'm not a slut! :drink:

I wonder if that's the same guy that fixes my sled? ;):D

Odd. In theory it should make more power with stock pistons than with low comp at the same boost.

230 hp is for Weanies. ; ^ ] JK

You will get used to it & want more. Addictive stuff this boost.

I will say though I did discover that 320 hp is too much for the trail. 260 -270 hp is about right for me it seems. But then again I drive a Tank .

:sled1:

Why did it blow up? 6 psi nevered bothered 1049's that I know of.

Stock fuel pump is good to 10psi with the correct injectors

You 2 guys....LMAO!

You make me want to pull out the movie "Grumpy old men"

I'll just sit back with my popcorn

It didn't look like it was going very fast to me !!

Looked like 3/4 throttle !!!

I would say something else but I won't ! :jump: :jump:

Ours went from the garage with 0 miles to wot across the lake checking boost. Break it in hard!

Riceburner- I say the motor was hurt from day 1 I had dropped cylinders from 150 miles on the clock out to 900 when it blew. I am telling you it must be the waste gate or the motor was bad because this thing pulls really hard now. Just got the call my reverse actuator is in and the proper fuel pump so she will be at 10#'s by the weekend.

Same for us. Boost straight to WOT. I've watched a certain manufacturer break them in the same way. Probably not recommended.
