Then go for more. That Turbo will pull it.
I may just do that... more boost, head shim and taller gearing...

I'd go with xtx 21/41 and 86 pitch chain, I'm using that in mine, no clutch machining at all and runs atleast 116 mph, the taller gearing in all honesty made the sled better all around!

21/41 with a 86 link chain works good on the low boost stuff.
If you're going higher boost, a 25/45 with a 90 link chain works very good.
I have both options in stock.

What's anyone think about going to a 21/41 on a non-aspirated LTX? I would think it would be ok, as it's standard on the stock XTX. Opinions?

Xtx uses smaller drivers than the ltx, so it evens out to the same ratio, but I personally think that going taller gearing on an n/a sled is a good idea

Yep, been saying this since the Viper came out. Torque motors like tall gears.

I'm probably gonna throw my stock gears and chain in my buddies xf7000, 7000 uses 21/49, viper is 24/50, hoping the lower ratio give some more mph, if nothing else we're hoping for lower rpm at cursing speeds.

I'm running 7 lbs boost
Did you change the chain when trying 24/41? Or 22/41? I have a hurricane race kit + 1150 stroker crank. 153" 2.6 powerclaw. I am looking for higher gearing!Ive been running 22/41 gears most of the winter and have seen 124 on the gps not fully shifted out and it accelerates extremely hard, I did try 24/41 but lost all my acceleration down low there's just not enough power at 6# to run those gears but I just ordered some new gears from Ulmer racing and hopefully I will get a chance to try it before the ice melts or I will have to wait for asphalt season

Maybe i am wrong ! I just chage the botom one from 50t to 48. 2.08 to 2.00.Same chain 92 tensionner is at the max! Or closed to!
If not enough i will go 21/41and changed it all.....

Not sure on chain size but that's not a big enough change in ratio. 24/46 (1.916) or 21/41 (1.952) would be much better with your turbo.
