The early BOA systems sucked.
Lots of issues and guys with boots they could not use or get fixed.
Because of that they developed a bit of a bad reputation.
They have been on the market now for a few years and have improved dramatically.
I dont expect to see you have an issue and if you do, as you said, HMK stansd behind the product and warranty.
You have zero to worry about.

I have Yamaha boa system boots that are made by DC, just like DC snowboard boot. Probably 6 years old now and still work fine no issues. Loose to walk tight to ride, best thing goin'. Handed down 2 year old ones to my son and he still has them, makes 'em 8 years old.
