Hole in primary clutch

Has anyone ever had a primary clutch wear a hole through the outer surface. 2009 nytro with 5500 miles. Is this common or another problem?

I've never seen that before. You must of spent most of those 5500 miles at wide open throttle to wear out the top of the primary.

Are you sure your running the correct belt? Grizz is right. A hole up there would be wide open throttle all the time.

Did it actually drive/accelerate/backshift?
Stuck in overdrive from a failed spring in secondary?
Or something besides the belt rubbing on primary?
The opposing clutch face looks straight or burned/damaged/grooved?
Had the sled since new?

Very bizaare. Never seen anything like that. I wonder if it was a bad casting from the get go.
