Hot running Attak

Mix anti-freeze to 60/40 ratio.
Add water wetter.
Install full size rear exchanger.
Problem solved... unless running on bare ice with absolutely no snow.

i had same problem last year i added a rear cooler made sure antifreeze was good ,check and make sure your fan is working mine blew a relay , when your light came on was your fan working

How many miles on the sled ? carbon build-up makes temps go up.used my inspection camera on mine thru throttle bodies to check.just something else to look at thats also important on these 4-stokes,.but yeah start with fresh-up coolant.

Mmmm....... I'm not understanding how carbon build up would cause overheating. Carbon build up where?

I know sounds crazy right.this may not be your problem just something to look at.carbon build-up will NOT make an engine run cooler!.SOME engines have carbon all on the valves.2 of my buddies with Apexs had it built up,sleds were slower, would overheat from time to time,1-2gal less mpg and they have less miles than mine.thousands less.not really sure if that was there problem, but i know that any one us would not want that in are engine! if you have been running additives in your fuel,(sea-foam) or any other good product you should be fine.i have now switched to Engine med rx from yamaha.just something to look at,cant hurt...

Well as for MPG we just did 1100 miles in Quebec. the first place on the trail we got gas, the cashier asked me if I was with the same group because I used so much less gas. I took notice the rest of the week and my Apex was taking the same amount of gas as the best in the group, an 06 Vector. Suppose I'm running pretty lean or riding too slow. LOL. I have run Sea Foam and the Yamaha ring free approx every other or 3rd tank.

Thats good. like i said just something to look at.always like my machine to run at its best.i would start at draining the coolant and pour and pump new stuff at the proper ratio.

Agreed. I am adding the rear cooler too as soon as I can find the best deal.

I assume you don't use the entire bottle of ring free. It has been years since I used it but remember reading the label where it says to change the oil after the shock treatment has been performed.

I put Sea Foam in my tank when the sled gets put away. I drain the fuel before the season starts to put in fresh. A little unmeasured ring free in the tank when I remember or have it with me. Every other or third tank. I have never used an entire bottle of ring free at one time.

With the correct antifreeze ratio, and the Attak rear cooler on my 07, on a day near 30 deg F., I run 165 deg F all day. On a colder day 5 deg F, I will run from 165 to 190 deg F. So definately the cold helps cause your problems, but the cooler will fix it.

That is great info. Sure wish a temp guage was built in. Buddy was riding a new Polaris SB 800 and every morning he would tell us what temp his engine was. Guess I'll add one of those before next season.
