I noticed over on Arctic Chat they added a Viper area to post and I thought it would be sort of nice to have a 7000 area over here to post for the Arctic Cat guys who might want to visit with the Yamaha guys about this series of sleds. I know it would probably be ok to post about the 7000 in the Viper area, but I thought some people might be put off by it. Not sure. My Dad just got a new XF 7000 and if there are any issues it might be nice to discuss them with Viper owners.
Anyhow I was just throwing out this suggestion to see what the members or moderators thought of it.

I think I remember seeing some comments in a Viper thread and the mods directed it to the Head to Head area.

Actually, I was quite impressed when I saw that the Cat guys made a discussion area for the Viper guys. Obviously they can help with chassis questions. On the flip side, there are a lot of guys on TY that could help the Cat guys with engine questions.
Why not just rename the thread "SR Viper / XF 7000"??

Well I posted my Dad's XF 7000 in the Head to Head area, but it just seems to me that the 7000 is closer related to the Viper then it is to the Suzuki or Arctic powered Cats so people might be interested in discussing topics or concerns with the Viper folks.
Hard to believe, but Yamaha and Cat owners are sort of on the same team now.

Hmmm You mean Catamaha right!

If they want to know about the Viper they should of bought a Viper. I would vote NO on adding ac to the YAMAHA site. Mr. Sled is the Boss and this is his site. I will respect his action.. Just my 2cents.

It would make too much sense....95 %commonality. Unfortunately, there is too much blind brand loyalty. Hard for people to change.

If Cat owners want to come to the Viper forum to learn about their Cats then let them and visa versa. The Viper is 95% Cat and it only makes sense that AC has a section for it. On the other hand the 7000 Cat is only 5% Yamaha and doesn't even run Yami clutches. Everything that can be learned about them is already in the Viper forum. Why start a Cat section?

I would think we would need their section on arcticchat, more for cross referencing body parts/accessories that may fit the viper, or suspension parts etc that may work better. They have had more time with aftermarket vendors on that body style then we have. I saw a guy that's a member on here at Richs yamaha. He was having them put on a few Cat, and aftermarket parts that he read up about on the threads. 7000 Cat guys will need totallyamaha more for air intakes, exhausts, programmers etc. to learn more about the Nytro motor performance options. I'm sure though the venders will be advertising super chargers, turbos, and other performance stuff under arctichats threads also. Overall it looks like the similarities of the 7000-Viper will have to be for the head to head, of TY or go to generality snowmobile sites like HCS, or snowest etc. for misc., performance or reliability comparisons of these two hybrid sleds IMO.... I like visiting all of the sites myself. First it makes me appreciate the knowledge, and easy layout of this site. Secondly it lets me see everyone's point of view on different rides. Kind of like watching CNN, then watching BBC to see the twists, and opinions from others lol.

If you want to post a thread about the Viper or Arctic Cat equivalent about the accessories or aftermarket items you can start one in the Viper section but I will not have a dedicated forum for the Arctic Cat sled. You have a right to your opinion, everyone has one.
