Aaen uses a ceramic packing in some of his pipes. That stuff is awesome.

As I said here is some crappy pics of my MCXpress exhaust that came with the turbo system before it was modified to let sled breath better, also some pics after it was modified,as its all I have on theCPU but I will get more of any of the pipes if anyone wants some.

So it's a totally different exhaust you got with your turbo system than mine from early 2007 ?
What was crappy about it ?
Is your intake and air filter located as it came in the MCX kit ?

Teerex let me start by saying sorry to you and anyone else that took my post the wrong way especially MCXpress if they read this and where confused as well.I did not mean the exhaust that came with the turbo kit was crappy,I meant the pics I have of my modified mcx exhaust can where crappy. Now that I have cleared up that part,Yes Teerex my MCXpress exhaust can was the same as yours even though I never seen it on the sled in that way only in pics due to the simpile fact I purchased this sled with the MCX kit already installed and dialed in somewhat as well. Now in the process of dialing the sled in they modified the MCX exhaust to let the turbo breath and run better. This was done by closing off the out pipe in the bottom of the exhaust can and then taking the back MCX name cutout plate off and cut two holes there so the exhaust exits straight out the back of the exhaust can. I wll see if I can get a pic or so of it that way for anyone who would like to see it.For those who would like to know I Actually purchased the sled from a TY member and you know him through this site, his user name is gsxr.
I know I allready apologized,But after going back and rereading my post. I can see how my response could of been miss under stood or taken in that way especially after leaving out the crappy MCXpress Exhaust pics as I did lol I must of had a brain freeze :o| .So again I would like to say sorry and hope that this has straightened everything out with my other post.
Regarding if my MCX kits air filter and intakes came located out the back next to my pipe as in my pics the answer is no, teerex It came located under the seat right next to the turbo as I would assume so did yours, correct? But after searching around the net and asking others with turboed phazers and for that matter any turboed Yamahas, for the most part everyone has there air intake filters out in the open to draw more air,and mine seems to work better out there aswell.I also emailed MCX about if they had any updates to there kit, being that I do belive from searching TY & snowest about turbo phazers that gsxr was one of the first guys to have one, so I firgued there could be some new updates for them like clutching or the air intake etc... and sure enough there was some new updated info on the air intake location but I already had that done.As for the clutching he didnt say anything about it and this was one of the main things that I wouldn't mind a little help or info atleast, as it seems to be a bit off as at wot on a lake or drag strip it gets to 129kms on the speedo but then it starts to sputter and backfire like a govenor is kicking in.Also i would like to get some info on gearing for different conditions and situations such as a good setup for everyday riding and ditching banging and another for some local drag racing events 660' and 1000' on hard pack snow with stock 2"track no studs as they are not aloud.
Anyway thats a little long winded and I hope this time everything is as clear as mud lol and if not let me know,oh ya if anyone is interested in the email response I got from Erik of MCXpress about the updates here it is followed by the crappy pics of the exhaust and others I have related to the rest of this post :bash: and as we all know :4STroke:
"Quote"Hi Roger.
We have made a heatshield under the seat between the exhaust system and the air filter.
This helps a lot and prevents moisure to be sucked into the airfilter.
But for really deep snow riding, we recommend to move the filter out in the fresh air. Use a 180 degree hose bend and place the filter backwards.
The hose from the turbo to the alu-tube under the tank is replaced by 2 short hoses and a alu tube instead.
Best regards Erik"End Quote"
Here is a few pics of the mcx exhaust stock and modified

Here are a a couple of pics of mine from under the seat and also have a question about turbo wraping or not. Some wrap there turbos and others dont.In these pics I have mine unwraped and another pic of it wraped now it is not wraped the best just a example to show what I mean as If I where doing it to leave it on I would do a better job,so what is your oponion on this?

to those of you with a supertrapp superlight, how hard would it be to cut the can shorter ie is there any fancy rolled edges etc at either end? i have a chance to pick up a 23 in pipe and would like to cut it to a 16 in thanks :yam:

Mad Cat; I just god confused as your pics showed a muffler looking like the MCX Nytro muffler :tg:
The Nytro MCX also has the air filter pointed backwards as your has.
So i thought the had changed the Phazer kit.
I had forgotten that I had already seen the pics of your sled with the modified MCX muffler like the one I have.
It turned out to be too loud for me for long time driving so I will make some easy way to close the holes in the back when needed.

Yes Erik at MCX is a great guy always replying quick.
I have ordered that heat shield and alu tube. Hope it will fix the trouble with engine loosing it's breath in the powder.

By the way my air filter had sucked in a lot of fibres from the heat wrapping that was around the exhaust pipe. Several loose hose clamps had damaged the wrapping.
Had to remove packed fibres from the filter. Some fibres had gone through the filter and it looked like the turbo fan had som minor damage, but I still get good pressure.

Not my kit but it shows the heat wrapping
