IN my neck of the woods we tend to run a fair bit of open water. I have never owned a Yamaha and wuoud like to know if any of you run open water with your sled. I am thinking of getting an Attack next year.

I was up in northern Maine a couple of weeks ago and they had there share of rain and long stretches of open water lets just say 250-300 yards of flooded areas of trail and 3-5ft deep in places. Well my RTX and my buddies RX1 crossed with no problems.

I havn't had a problem....there is snow where i ride

Love to see some pics...Did a lil water hop over a bubbler...Didn't even notice the water... Could be fun in the spring when you skip water to get to the "good ice"....

I have SLP Powder pros on my RTX handled 500 yards of open water with no problems. FYI: your don't have to go more than 30 mph to enter water, you can gain speed if you need it on water. Been doing water for 10 years. Make sure boots around steering linkage are not torn, or you will need to swim! Water and anyones clutch kit does not mix well. :D

I ran some open water and had no problems. I should have slowed down a bit more when I got to the other side though... Made a good show for the friends. Water was only 2-3ft deep though. gun it and go.

i havent really skipped much water before...maybe 20 feet every now and then to get where i wants to go
is there any technique for skipping large amounts of water or just go fast and don't shift ur weight to much?

For safety's sake I really dont think we should be promoting water skipping on the site. There is too much danger in doing this as one man found out last week.
