I'm curious right now I run at 9500 off the bottle and 10500 on, with the 25T top gear its sliggish off the bottle. On the spray of course its a top end monster. What do you guys do get the best of both worlds?

I ride an Apex and it runs fine at 9500 off the bottle thanks to the broad torque curve and EFI.
I would like to get a tuner to raise the rev limiter to 12500 I think that would be the way to go. Clutch it to run around 10.5k off and 12k on.

Mine runs good its still faster then my viper was but mach z's blow by me, f cats etc. Just wish I could get the best of both worlds.
Think there is any harm in spinning the motor that high to the clutch?

I think if they can spin the motor that high in streetbikes and run 400hp turboed sleds I think 250hp with N2O would be O.K.

I thinking of over spinning the clutch not the engine. Think the clutch could fly apart at those rpms?

I don't know what the gear reduction ratio is but you wouldn't be spinning the clutch 1500rpm's more. I think the stock clutch spins close to 7k when the motor is at 10.5k, so you would only be reving it close to 800 rpm more. I don't think that would be a prob, but I don't know. Maybe Ulmer can tune in on this and let us know how high you can rev the stock clutch's.

At stock RPM level the RX-1 and Apex run between 8,500-8,600 clutch speed. If you let both go to 12,000 rpm it would be between 9,700-10,000 rpm clutch speed. A short burst at that RPM is likely ok, but prolonged running at those clutch speeds wouldn't be recommended. The RX-1 is somewhat limited on raising the rev limiter (believe there is a CDI that has advanced timing throughout and one for turbo motors that has advanced initial timing and then retarded timing on top end, both with rev limiter raised). The Apex the only way I currently know of to raise the rev limiter is the Power Commander with Ignition Module.

I don't think we would need to go to 12, but clutch the sled as normal, and then add 1000 rpm. So maybe 11,200-11,500 that would put the clutch sped right at 9200 or so, probably tolerable??
Can you even get those programmed CDi's anywhere anymore, Hauck wont respond to my calls or emails, and I havne't tried simmons yet.

Exactly bump the limiter to 12k so you won't be bouncing it on the juice, but rev the engine to 11.5k or so spraying would be awesome.

Hauck has one box for the rx1 left, they stated I would have to run the ignition retard key for the nitrous application. $500 for both the box and key. Seem right?
SRXSpec if you have one I would rather give you the money...
