How does a turbo/super charger affect warranty?

Warranty

I have to believe its gone. There may be some dealers that will try to get things fixed for ya but if it ia a major melt down I dont think it will fly...

I would think it would just void your motor warranty. A lot would depend on your dealer and Yamaha's warranty dept. For example, a stator wouldn't really be affected by a turbo, neither would most of the sled IMO. Detonate a piston and no chance, because you would probably get away with a little detonation on the stocker but no way with a tubo, she's toast. Hey, that's the price we pay. I don't remember ever getting warranty on a dirt bike, so what's the difference?

A total VOID of warranty I would believe. Drivetrain is greatly affected by the increased power, Motor of course, skid will take a toll also due to the monster torque put into it, steering and handle bars from you trying to hang onto it, track, clutches will have its share too. But it depends on your dealer if they are willing to lie to Yamaha for you when things go wrong.

that would be up to the dealer unless you did something stupid my dealer said no prob he would cover me but if you seen all the yammi stuff i have that helps all from him. :yam: :yam: :4STroke:

yamaha will not cover motor damage, they are sending reps out to check all motor damage due to all the turbo,s, dealer can not get it covered unless he pays for it himself, had a deal here that lost the motor with turbo and rep came out and checked it out as well.
