I am considering purchasing a Holtzman Nitrous kit for my 06 RTX. With a limited snow season in the NE, I don't want to be playing/always fine tuning. How much time should I expect to dial in the nitrous? Is it something that always needs to be fine tuned once installed or can I just set it and hit the happy button and just refill the bottle? Barry has the single kit @60hp and dual kit @90hp for a little more money. What would you recommend for a hassle free setup? Sorry for all the questions in advance. Thanks.

Nos, thanks for the PM. What are you running for studs with your setup. I would assume you leave starting line under normal aspiration and then once rolling hit the nitrous? How long do you actually hold the nitrous button for?

That is correct, as I have the button by my left thumb. When I know I have good traction, I then can hit the button. Usually can hold the button for a max of 15 seconds roughly, per run. I use short bursts on the trail to get me out ahead fast, then I back off the button and just use the throttle. Starting line launches have spun excessively, and hit the rev limiter on occasion.

Terry, do you leave your bottle valve open when you are trail riding?
I found that in my car if I did that, I would lose nitrous...

I will leave the bottle on when trail riding, and close it if we stop for any length of time, (eating, broken down sled, etc.)

So I am safe to assume you suspect no loss of nitrous over a couple hour period?NOS-PRO said:I will leave the bottle on when trail riding, and close it if we stop for any length of time, (eating, broken down sled, etc.)

MyOutdoors - I am running a 162 pick pattern (144 1.375 golddiggers down the center, and 18 1.18's on the outside) This may sound dumb, with a 1 1/4 track, but the lugs taper down on the side, and the 1.18's stick out about a 1/4 inch when seated in the track.
87 - I haven't really checked, but see no loss in a couple hours time. Overnight, and thru the weekend by leaving on mistakenly,.....yes.

IC, so the moral of the story, close one bottle FIRST before opening another bottle!!
