the xtx (all Nytros)also has a cooling fan like cars,so it wont overheat if you dont push it hard.
If the yellow light comes on,just let it idle.

My hot light will come on after idling for approx 5-7 min, while I'm thawing out my fingers on the exhaust. Sometimes it will even shut the sled down.
If I'm moving and snow is being thrown on the the heat exchanger, its fine.
I may install a rear heat exchanger, just to give it a bit more cooling capacity and help reduce ice build-up in the tunnel at the same time.

Is your cooling fan running???? There is a plug under the hood that may have been unplugged, (it was on mine/yellow light on almost all the time)but the sled will stop after idling after a while for safety reasons, just hit the trottle for every two min. then it will idle untill its out of fuel i think

Yes, it turns on. Kind of suprises me that it gets hot while the fan runs. I figured it could keep up.
The sled is going to the dealer next week. It's one of the things, that I'm going to have them check out while its there.

No over heating issues here, but the Hyfax can wear out fast. Check in the middle section between the small wheels. This can also wear quick even if there is plenty of snow. I wore out a set in 300 miles, not becuase of low snow, but because of how cold it has been. Those hard flat ribbons of concrete some call awesome trails can wear out a set of sliders fast. Keep ducking off in the powder to keep them lubed up.

No overheating here at all! Sled works awesome on and off trail! Even with all of my previous sleds I've always looked for some loose snow to dip it in when I'm riding on trails! It's the nature of the beast with the way snowmobiles are set up to cool! I believe that Yammi has on of the best cooling systems of all sleds I've ever run! Can go for a long time with minimal snow. Low snow conditions are gonna be hell on any set of Hyfax regardless of what machine you're riding!! The sled I was on previously(different brand) always heated up on trails, it got REALLY annoying. That one I bought with a 1.75" track on it with an M-10 suspension which I believe never helped the cause at all. Like I said before, I think it's a good rule of thumb to always look for some loose snow to dip it in while you're trail riding for long stretches, especially if the trail surface is quite hard!
