I wish I knew about them before I incested in the FLY risers and done so much modifying to them. Plus the blue metal would look sick on the sled.

Stumbled onto this thread and needed to add my name. It's over 10 years now that I've had my rx1m. Can't part with her. Only 8000 miles on the ol' girl. Sure she's heavy, but solid and cheap to keep. Love her to bits. So many good memories. Back in spring '02 I figured i was in for the long haul and I pledged to drive her till she drops dead. When I brought it home in October a bunch of dudes walked over to the trailer and we're stunned saying "what the he'll is that?". It looked so killer. Good times. Thanks frosty and all the other familiar names here.

I still pop in here from time to time. I see RX-1s for sale now and I keep thinking should buy one again. The RX-1s are now getting pretty inexpensive and I really enjoyed mine the 8 seasons I rode it. This is a great forum. How could I possibly stay away.

I bought a used under tunnel exhaust and block off plate ready to install in the RXM. I also bought another tank cover to cut up for the Apex seat install. Just have been busy on the Nytro. Girlfriend rides the RX and loves it. It is still going strong and is still mint (knock on wood).

I have three rx-1's Original 2003's. Put on the wider skis from the 05's and rear heat exchanger (that was a huge oversight by Yamaha). We use them to go in and out of our cabin and no more a reliable machine could be found for that. Tons of power to pull the gear sled and hold two adults (sometimes three).
One of them I put the rider forward kit on. Another has lighter exhaust and one has a reverse kit. We will keep using them for transport till they die and I think that could be sometime in the next decade. It is true they are heavy as sin and dig a terrible trench but all in all work just fine and make a great trail sled if your into that.. Only get out about 3 to 4 times a season as I just like chairlifts and two ski's to much
I assumed they didn't go for much these days but we got them on a killer deal bran new they were only 6300 dollars off the lot.
Main thing I hate about them is.......... CARBS!! Don't like to sit for summer. Damn pilot jets get clogged and Make me want fuel injection real bad.

Next year try a bottle of Mechanic in a bottle in your gas run the sled to make sure the treated stuff is in your carbs and fill your gas tank to the rim less air is better to stop fuel degradation.
Still riding my 04 rx1m and 05 rx1 and also have a 2011 venture which is basically the same machine with the 3 banger installed. Love them all and just installed hid light in my 04.
