Just wondering how much track deflection I can get away with with my LTX. Right now the track is tight and stops immediately when letting off the throttle on the jackstand.

With my Cat, I could run the track ultra loose so that it actually rotated on the jackstand when the sled was idling. With my ZR I normally ran 2" of deflection at 20lbs of force in the middle of the track and had no ratcheting problems.

Wondering how crazy I can go with my new Yamaha.

It is a Vector LTX, but I asked the question here since it is basically the same chassis as the Apex / Attack and you guys have all of the experience with this chassis.

Thanks!
Mike

You can let it droop about 1.5 to 2 inches after it stretches in some. It will stretch out in about 200 miles. Then make sure you check it again. Maxdlx

It depends on if you have studs and the condition's and the hp.
I run mine loose enough just so they don't ratchet.

I've found I have to run right about where the manual wants it. Thats tighter than I'm used to on my old sleds, but I ratchet otherwise

AAHH..Gotta love the Mono. One of many reasons I won't run one anymore. I had to run my track on my 07 Attak ( Before I pulled and sold the skid ) with the drive lugs just under the slides looking strait at it. Not sure on the lbs, I have never measured this with any sled. I just go with what feels right and what works. I didn't rachet to much.

My 06 Attak was also ratcheting. I picked up some extroverts from RichieRich. The ratcheting will be gone :)

Thanks for the replies! I think my Cat TSL skid spoiled me with the amount of deflection I could run - 1" static deflection with no ratcheting. I am probably going to order a 4th wheel kit and will at least be using Poo idler wheels by the time the snow flies. Read too many good things about oversized wheels, and too many bad things about Yam wheels. Going to play it safe and order some OEM Kimpex wheels from Recreational Leisure in Michigan.
