I have the LTX-LE 137" with1.25" track. I only have 300kms on so far and on a packed trail it hauls like crazy. However once I leave the beaten trail it only hauls mediocre. I do 70% percent lake, 30% trail riding. I'm looking for a better setup for powder and have read a few things on different threads. It seems there is a lot of ski pressure. Skis, unload front shocks, tighten rear , loosen strap??I'm looking for advice on what can be done easily and where to start.

Wider ski's will certainly help over the tuners. Check out the Cat ProClimb 7's, it's their mountain ski, and is pretty affordable compared to some of the other options. If you can find a Cat service manual to download (not the owner's manual) it talks about not letting the straps out to far as it will just trench in deep snow. It also talks about stiffer front ski shocks to increase transfer to the rear - I'm a little unsure on this one, but that is what it said. I have the XTX, and I can say the bigger tracks make a huge difference in the deep show performance. It's like a boat coming up on plane - it just lifts the front right out of the snow!

I bought wider skis on my apex for the same reason. Second you let off the gas it nose dives. Haven't got to test them yet though.
