Trying to straighten my once again bent bulkhead but cannot get it to come back. Try'd the pry bar no go, hook straps to my come along then to truck and telephone pole and was able to get it with were bends in plate are maybe under 1/4 inch then starting breaking straps.
Then hooked to telephone pole and went in reverse, bent the hook on my heavy strap straight.
Any ideas on how to bring it back so I can remove and weld in gussets or is it a lost cause and time to anti up for a new one?
Thanks for any help

Just going to have to sack up for a new one if you want it straight again. Usually can only get bent ones bent back so much and by the techniques you tried, probably give up on that one. Sorry brother, had to do the same this summer.

i just spent no joke about 6 hours total on mine... i tied the sled back to a beam in my metal shop then used a double pull comealong and got it back "close to straight, its still out an 1/8th of an inch but i could live with that , then i welded in the gussets and called it a day...
cut the factory bottom plate/gusset out with a cutting wheel then it will move more easily...
you dont want to be jerking those stock a arm bushings , i actually installed ulmers bushings then straightened it out.

If you absolutely need to use your original I suggest you pull it and use a welding torch on it and "massage vigorously" with some type of jig or coyote stretcher. It will give you the opportunity to gusset it and get her powder coated if you go that route.

Thinking will put it thought insurance, just with the 500 dedecutible and time wasted with entire insurance process if I could fix for same amount and get a reinforced one would go that route

cutting out the center support plate makes straightening it out easier. Then do yourself a favour and PM Grizztracks and get a kit from him to weld in and make it stronger than any new one.
I did that this summer and didn't bent it at all when I hit a rock hard this year.
