All my tuning components on my 2019 XTX LE have been purchased from Hurricane and I have been more then pleased so it made sense to purchase the Gap closed loop tuning from Hurricane as well.
I already had a Gap Flasher, the SS Stock and Perf Muffler tune bundle, Dash Flash, Data Logging, Launch Control, and plug and play AFR module so I just needed to purchase the closed loop download.
The process was simple and Dave called me to confirm the details.
After I downloaded the new flash to my Gap flasher I just had to plug the Gap Flasher into my sled and using my iphone Gap App I reflashed the ECU. Everything went smoothly and after the Ecu flash was complete I started the sled and everything was normal except I had a SD-24 code flashing. The code flashed for approx 15-20 sec then disappeared. I shut down the sled and restarted and the code repeated for the same time then disappeared again. I wasn't overly concerned as the code always cleared itself but I have never had a code on my sled before so I called Hurricane.
Here's what Dave told me.
SD-24 is an O2 sensor code that has always been in the Sidewinder ECU but never activated by Yamaha because the Sidewinder in stock form does not have an O2 Sensor. Because the closed loop upgrade needs the O2 sensor to control the AFR Hurricane has activated the SD-24 O2 sensor code that was already dormant in the factory ECU.
Clever!
When I was starting the sled the ECU was sending the SD-24 code because the O2 sensor had not yet heated up and as soon as it did the code went away so obviously not an issue.
Importantly, if I were to get an SD-24 code while riding the sled it would indicate an O2 sensor failure that would need to be addressed ASAP.
I am more then impressed!

Further on this SD-24 code:
This may be just my sled that is flashing this code on startup as the O2 sensor has had a season of fairly high mileage and high speed running before installing the closed loop flash...I would be interested in other feedback.

Hi SSB, we just got back from Daves shop, he set me up with the flash and WB, also welded the bung into the muffler(Dave's signature weld ) I will let you know how it reacts on startup once I install it.
I have the same sensor on my Buick GN and there is a sensor heat up timer to protect the ceramic sensor tip.... It's like a 10 second heat up cycle then it displays the AFR.
Cheers
Maybe YAMAMARC can chime in as I know he has the CLP and new WB installed....

Takes a while for the sensor to warm up. Normal

Yep same as a PCV Auto tune setup and any vehicle with a O2 sensor, no com until heat cycle is completed. Only your car doesn't throw a code because it's in the program to wait until heat cycle is completed and throw the check engine light is things are not correct.

Should program a delay in before looking at the input.

Divorce in the making!!lolBig shooter

Actually I don't mind the code on startup, now that I know what it is, as long as it disappears as it shows that the O2 sensor is being monitored and is working.

Not sure if I already sent this. It might help. While it shows this applies to '17 & '18 sleds, it applies to all Cats w Team primaries. It was published before your '19 was even made! Good luck.

I used to turn the key on and let it sit a minute or two before cranking then my AFR gauge had time to heat up the sensor. I also think its good to let it flash until its warmed up. Then you know you have good closed loop control. Will be interesting to see the long term use of this product because I always had O2 sensor issues and at $80-100 replacement yearly was getting old. I love closed loop and will be doing so on my Motec apex but fingers crossed the O2s hold up over a year of riding, hopefully multiple years.

My o2 sensor is on its second sled and has been through pump gas, torsco, c16, q16, import and still functions fine. Make sure you don't twist the sensor wires to install. Seen way too many guys use this method
