look people the phazer is what it is a tight rough trail sled. If you bought it for youre 9 year old kid or youre first time rider wife and they tip it well i guess maybe its the fact that you didnt do any homework on it and not the fact that the "sled sucks". i have had fast sit down sleds and this one is 100 times more fun than any of them. its made to be riden not driven if thats what you are looking for go buy an old viper, vmax, ect. and please stop coming on here whining because its not what you wanted.
ps if you ask a question dont call the guy/girl trying to help with an answer a liar. if thats all you are here for pack youre $hit and leave.
thanks
sorry for the rant

It also is reflected in what the stealer tells you at the time.Sometimes you can be mislead in ANY purchase, cars etc.It may get out of hand at times and any bashing is not acceptable. My wife new rider ran a '07 Phazer, was ok, but too powerless for our mountains, but the upgrade to a Nytro was not the best, too heavy and tiring.

well said - thanks for typing that so i didn't have to. most of those posts are just trolls from other sites anyways - I think i summed it up when i said the phazer was meant for a few skilled, well endowed riders - not everyone.soul_hammer said:look people the phazer is what it is a tight rough trail sled. you missed some troll complaining that his wife rolled her phazer mtx with their son on the back when trying to take a corner - one of those one post wonders that always say - i've owned a yamaha for 30 years and...
Just last week I saw a big one roll her Polaris at about 10mph right behind her husband smashing the hood and her face shield to bits about 50ft from me.Two sleds in front of her were riding side by side on a 10ft trail and almost made me hit a rock getting out of there way.Figure it must have been a gang of newbies.I think I laughed for a good 10mi!Never occured to me that the sleds were the real problem! Now I know better

I remember that thread...I didn't realize it went south so quick!
When I first took my Phazer for a spin I realized pretty quick just how different it rides...and you learn to ride it appropriately.
I am guilty of convincing people to buy a Phazer even though I know they would have a easier time riding other sleds. But to blame a crash on the sled is just crazy and I know that even for a slowcruising type rider they get used to the Phazer and just have a blast on it.Just takes time and practice. If Yamaha offered a equal or less expensive sitdown sled I would advise them to buy that but they dont so what choice is there?

Some people can't be helped. It think there is a saying, "you can't fix stupid".
I saw something like this last season too Cannondale. Some Big Ole Bessy in front of me was following a large group of what looked like 2up rentals down the side of the road. She stopped at a point where the trail along the road got narrow and was on a petty good angle. Her husband went around her on the road and you could see she was scared to drop off the snow bank and on to the road so she tried to side hill the snow bank after the others waved her to keep going. Well instead of using momentum to carry her across the snow bank she hit the brakes at the steepest point, and well lets say gravity won and she ended up out in the road anyway, upside down. Wouldn't matter what sled she was riding. Darn those law's of physics.

Whoah, soul_hammer, take a couple of nice deep breaths - everything is going to be OK. we've all taken our licken from these sleds. quadwrecker took some of everyones advice and showed some thanks.
There are a lot of different types of folks on this forum - some that don't have a clue - just like in every one of lifes endeavors, and others that cowboy up and ride. Whats that old saw? "when the goin gets tough, the tough get goin"
I read some of the posts here and clearly realize that not everyone is a seasoned sled head, or a competent mechanic. just like cars - if the thing doesn't start when they turn the key or the wheels don't go round when they put it in drive - it's all bad and so are the dealers. I guess we just have to sort through all that and take what works for us. The internet is like that

With the number of mods Ty has, it's amazing some stuff still falls through the cracks. If you guys feel so inclined, a short PM with a link to the thread in question, sent to any of the Mods will almost always result in at least a comment in the thread....Not that you guys need to do our jobs, but some things do get missed.
LOL! We all have done stupid things but for most of us it was fun till it got stupid. Now my wife gets absolutely terrified when given chance to drive anything other than her car so I dont go out and try to make her think riding a sled is like driving a car.Every year I take her out practicing on the river where there is lots of room and no damage can be done.I make her turn until it slides or lifts a ski a bit, climb some snowbanks, brake hard and have her pin the throttle for awhile so there are no suprises.Only after a few good rides will I let her take one of kids on back. They also get taught how to lean correctly. Then we ride as a family usually me and older one and wife and younger one.SRX and Phazer. Two sleds that obviously were never designed for two-up but a great time if done with some common sense.
