I think everyone is getting way too carried away with this!! One little ride in what he called wet heavy snow and they're trying to rebuild the machine! Settle down folks, that snow looks like glue on the front! You can ride in plenty of deep snow at the right temps(cooler) and the snow will fall right off! They're is a God awful amount of weight on the front with all of that snow on there! Now I agree that a set of skis will help and I plan on putting a set on mine but I just think that this is a situation that everybody is getting way too worked up about given the conditions! Cheers!

You're right. About all the suggestions will help in deep snow on any sled but may not be necessary. The ONE thing necessary to change are the ski's. They suck as trail ski's and doubly suck for powder.

Put a 1.75" backcountry on there and it will rock in the deep stuff even if it's still the 121."

I believe racheting will cause much more than just a vibration!!

Watching MSG on his XTX in 2 ft of fluff was awesome. The sled was accelerating on top of it and his skis were barely tapping the snow. Carving looked easy. He went by me on my FX like I was standing still. I was very impressed with the float. The next time we go out I will try and video him on the XTX in powder. His sled is stock!!! That means he still has the ripsaw also. I guess if you want any more float you should buy a boat!

It was more the sticky wet snow, in dry deep pow its amazing, that wet stuff in the pixs was to heavy for the front end

Cured the deep powder problems on my XTX with a 146" x 1.75" Ripsaw, Extros, and Slydog Powder Hounds. Only been stuck once since then- but when I got off the sled, I sank up to my crotch and my feet still hadn't hit bottom! Was a b*tch gettin' it out, but sure was fun to play in..

I found that I was getting great top speed on the deep fluff yesterday. Going through the drifts was just like riding on water as another post mentioned like on a boat. I was getting 80 mph when I held her in the rough drifts and that was bouncing through the drifts. 1.5" track with Avid drivers. I absolutely love the seating position. I'd like my feet a few more inches forward and the reverse lever hurts my knee on long hard drives.
